Miami Heat players: Arrest in Trayvon Martin case brings some closure [Remember John Rocker?]
Miami Herald ^ | 4/12/12 | Joseph Goodman

Heat players were part of the movement three weeks ago to shed light on the circumstances involving the death of Trayvon Martin. On Thursday, they hoped the recent development in the case helped bring closure to the family.

Martin’s shooter, George Zimmerman, was charged with second-degree murder Wednesday. Martin, who was killed by Zimmerman in a gated community in Sanford while wearing a hooded sweatshirt, was a fan of Dwyane Wade, LeBron James and the Heat.

Heat players, who later posed for a team photograph in hooded Heat sweatshirts as a show of support for Martin’s family, said Martin’s death affected them because many of the players have sons.

Oh, heck yes! Gun violence can be a very, very good thing, when it is used to stop violent criminals from harming innocent people!

Every criminal whose life is ended early by gun violence, instead of being arrested, tried, and imprisoned, saves the taxpayer on average some 2 MILLION dollars. And if they are not arrested, it can save the lives and fortunes of many innocent people who would have been victimized.

This is why I pay absolutely no attention to the National Thug Association. I could care less if the play or not. It means nothing to me. We’ve got “Los Suns” pushing for amnesty for illegal aliens here. Idiots.

Isn’t it Lebron who’s refusing to play for the American olympic team without being paid?

Or do I have him mixed up with another Heat player.

Heat have more thugs in their roster than any other team (I think).

Root for the Mavericks — the nice guy team.

This is too rich! Now that the “heroes” have declared the matter closed how do Sharpton and Jackson gin up anger among Blacks? Nice news indeed,

You feel the same about Tebow? Or just people with whom you disagree?

“You feel the same about Tebow? Or just people with whom you disagree?”

I have no problem with Tebow, or anyone else, talking about their life, or their personal religious beliefs. I do have a problem with Tebow, or anyone else, injecting themselves into an ongoing criminal investigation that they have no direct knowledge of. Tebow has consistently been out there speaking about his Christian faith and being a living example of that. I don’t recall him getting involved in any controversial legal cases that are none of his business. People are killed every day in this country. There is black on black, white on black, white on white, black and white crime. Why all of a sudden are we hearing from the Miami Heat on this case? Don’t tell me it’s because it happened in Florida. These guys, the media, the POTUS etc, need to stay out of it and let law enforcement do their job.

Their comments were made because Trayvon was a fan of theirs. Simple. Granted, you are correct inasmuch as they probably know little to nothing about the case. There is much we do not know. But to acknowledge that they lost a fan is fine. Having said that LeBron is an idiot. Sorry. I do not approve of name calling but....still. Geeze...he is so full of himself. And I do not follow basketball. But....I know. I need to practice what I preach. Sorry.
