Warren Buffett, the billionaire investor known as much for his folksy wisdom as his investing prowess, announced Tuesday that he has been diagnosed with cancer.

In a letter to shareholders, Buffett, 81, said that he had been diagnosed with stage I prostate cancer.

“The good news is that I've been told by my doctors that my condition is not remotely life-threatening or even debilitating in any meaningful way,” Buffett said in the letter.

Buffett said that he will begin a two-month treatment of daily radiation in mid-July. He said his travel will be restricted during that time but it will not otherwise change his daily routine.

In his typical conversational style, Buffett said that he feels great.

It’s stage one and is no real threat to his health.

I’m not a fan, but I wish the man no ill will. The fact that the cancer was caught this early makes it very treatable.

Good luck, and pay you back taxes! ;^)

Warren Boofay is a cancer.

Predictable.

Sooner or later somebody was going to say that.

But why did you want to be that person?

If you're the forgotten man, maybe there's a reason.

Perhaps ObamaCare can help?

I hope he doesn’t lose any sleep over it. I heard a doctor once say that he had never done an autopsy on a man 85 or older who did NOT have prostate cancer. It’s “generally” slow-growing, contained, and treatable.

Since Warren Buffett’s prognosis is good, maybe we should devote our prayers instead to hoping that the Supreme Court strikes down ObamaCare. If it goes into effect next year with all its regulations and rationing, Mr. Buffett might be the only American above 65 receiving prostate treatments, probably at an expensive clinic in Switzerland.

Buffett should just take some pain killers. He’s too old for treatment.

I wish I was 81 when prostate cancer first arrived. I was 52 and 57.

He’s lucky.

I heard a doctor once say that he had never done an autopsy on a man 85 or older who did NOT have prostate cancer.

I seem to recall many years ago someone telling me that the odds of a man contracting Prostate Cancer increases by 1% every year. So, with Buffett being 82, he had an 82% chance.

Now, nObama, on the other hand, seems to suffer from PROSTRATE Cancer, especially when it comes to meeting with leaders of Socialist/Communist regimes. Surprised Mugabe or Chavez haven't been invited to spend a rowdy weekend at the Pennsylvania Avenue "hood"!

Stage 1. He’ll be fine. thankfully he has the money to buy whatever he wants but if he didn’t and was covered under ObamaCare® he would have severe restrictions on care provided and few choices.

Given his age it’s questionable as to how much care if any he would receive under the auspices of cost effectiveness for his age group.
