I see what's been happening to this country since long before I was born. My avocation is reading (technical and popular) from the mid-1800s to mid-1900s.

I miss an America I never saw. And I surely miss the America of my youth.

As a 9 year old, with a buddy, each riding our bikes with a .22 strapped to the handlebars, stopped by the local cop at the corner so he could tell us there were snapping turtles at his favorite fishing hole...

You think that would fly today?

My America is ruined.

By people that voted for the lesser evil. And things just moved left.

My Dad was born in the Fox Chase neighborhood in Philly (literally born in the house) in the late ‘20s. He routinely walked through the neighborhood with his Sears double-barrel shotgun in hand to go hunting where Jeans Hospital is now located. Nobody blinked. In fact, they smiled and waved.

Can you imagine that happening today?
