"Also, curious as to what an RAC is, refund anticipitory... what?

I anticipate IRS trouble this year, and would like nothing better than to believe it will all be OK, but the Times’ story has me also frightened, as does the expweience of the OP as a seasoned preparer.

Encourage, heck even comfort me, please..."

Refund anticipation loans & checks. And I am a 30 year CPA with as much audit experience. The OP is just using scare tactics to make you run to the safety of his great protection. Barf Alert!!!!!

The IRS folks are just a bunch of bureaucrats who want you to tell the truth. Gee, there is a novel idea. Do you suppose bramps' client wasn't disclosing everything? Well then I hope they chase the guy to the ends of the earth. I'm a taxpayer too and don't like these sorts getting away with deducting their toys and vacations.

Bramps sounds like the guy from TaxMasters who can save you from the big bad wolf. Problem: that guy just got sued for $ 195M for not providing any actual service. Whatever you do, don't sign up for bramps' special, secret newsletter.

Hey Dutchboy88, just a rousing enthusiastic round of supporting comments on your part.
For the information of the public, the case ended up with a complete examination of all income with examining deposits made for the year which amounted to a grand total of $26,000. which was split between two people. The agent abruptly decided to settle the case without any further examination and explained he was sorry he had to do what he did. The case was settled for a fraction of what they thought was errors in the return. Your assumptions are so Obama like. Your name must be Axelrod.
By the way, your just a rookie at the game son.

Oops, hit a nerve did we gramps? How did they know any errors existed to begin with? Let me guess...the cash deposited did not tie to the Sched. C. Or, the travel wasn't ordinary & necessary. Or hiring that dog wasn't considered proper. You may wish to start representing honest taxpayers or, perhaps birds of a feather? If I am a rookie, you are clearly out to pasture.

Your ignorance is more obvious than your knoweledge. Nice try. There isn’t any nerves to hit. Your attempt at trying to show you know some tax rules is pretty weak.

"There isn’t (sic) any nerves to hit."

And your grammar & spelling make us all wonder if you really are in a position to accurately describe the IRS. Didn't they teach some of that at H&R Block?

I certainly didn’t feel accuracy in anything was your strong suit.

Give it up gramps, you’re rant is fading along with your skill. Go live in Somalia where everyone does what is right in their own eyes. I’m sure they can use a “freghtened” old guy who hates all control.
