Romney steady @ 48%. Obama up 1 to 44%.

Gallup will supposedly do this every day until the Election, or until one of these two aren't the nominee of their respective party.

I refuse to play their game.

It’ll be Newt Gingrich as a write-in.

This poll captures “leaners” but it is still registered voters. Likely voters would be + 3% greater lead for the Republican.

It will likely stay in Romney’s favor until the danger of a divided convention has passed. They manipulated some of the poll numbers during the primary so far to get their desired result, why would they stop now?

The "anybody but Obama" vote is starting to show up.

Our guy can win on the anti-Obama vote, no matter who he is.

*Except for jack the Ripper and the Boston Strangler.

This is very much like the lead-in in the 1980 election The press was spreading it on really thick how Carter would win (and it was so depressing) ...and then the election happened ...

"Oh no!"

Those who are undecided are further asked if they lean more toward Obama or Romney and their leanings are incorporated into the results.

What about those who have decided that they will not vote for either one?

Not to be too bold here, but if this keeps up it’s going to be a blowout on Super Tuesday, it won’t even be close. That’s saying something, because we had way better candidates than Mittens.

As they say, if an incumbent is below 50 percent, he’s toast. More than 80 percent of “undecided” voters go AWAY from the incumbent.

If there’s anything worse than Democrats campaigning, it’s Democrats campaigning DESPERATELY. This will probably end up being one of the ugliest campaigns of all time.

Obama is going to clean his clock. These polls are pointless to me. There is no way at all Romney can hold up the next few months. He’s a horrible politician and a lying fraud, and is going to get annihilated in November.

And the rest of us are screwed.

Understand this romney shills.... romney CANNOT beat obomba and the fact that you're believing the obomba run media's report that he can, in this matter, shows how much of the koolaide you've been drinking. What's worse is you believe romney is better for this country than obomba is.

Shame on you.

The Conservative Cause is clearly served by an Obama re-election rather than a Romney win.

A Right leaning/Conservative Congress can easily remain united behind an Obama re-election....whereas the same Congress will be sliced and diced by the RINOS if Romney is in the White House.

The Powers That Be fully understand this....

Being that this thread has the possibility of mentioning Mitt Romney, I must hereby preface my comments with the following obligatory anti-Romney rant in order that my actual comments are not misconstrued to be in support of Mitt Romney in any way whatsoever:
Boo! Hiss! Boo! Hiss! (Stamping feet on ground) Bad on Mitt Romney for pulling ahead of Obama in the daily polling. Shame on the Republicans who voted for Mitt Romney in the primaries. (Making gagging sound and clawing at my chest) Boo! Hiss! Mitt Romney is a RINO who ties his dog to the top of his car! Boo! Hiss!

OK, now that I have that out of the way, this election is shaping up very much like 1980. We have another incompetent Democrat in office, in fact even more incompetent than Carter, if that can be believed. On the Republican side, we again have a nominee that is not a consensus choice.

Remember that Reagan was so loathed by the establishment Republicans that they ran John Anderson as a moderate alternative in a third party bid. Now we have the opposite situation - a candidate that is the choice of the establishment but loathed by the rank and file conservatives.

Also in 1980, the polls kept telling us that Carter was going to prevail over the "cowboy" Reagan. It wasn't until September/October that it started to become apparent that Reagan was on his way to victory (due to the enthusiasm of his crowds) but even then, the polls had it "dead heat" all the way to the end.

The scary thing this year is that almost half our population is dependent upon big government for their "freebies" and thus Obama is going to automatically get about 45% of the vote - even if he declares himself a non-citizen, a marxist and grants Zimmerman a full pardon.

The good news is that we could nominate Ted Nugent and still have an excellent chance with most of that remaining 55%.

In the end, Reagan blew out Carter by 10 points
