DOVER, Del. (AP) — The chairman of Kent County's Republican Party says he's switching his support from Mitt Romney to Newt Gingrich.

Hans Reigle on Friday said he was throwing his support to the former House speaker because he "is the only candidate who has shown a willingness to meet and talk with Delaware voters for more than an hour."

Hey, Mr. Reigle, wake up! You are in Delaware. It is a tiny state. It may have some good features, but you can’t expect politicians to campaign for national office there. And when did you last elect any Republicans? Doesn’t Biden represent you as US Senator?

I have always admired Gingrich, but let’s face it: the race is OVER. It is Romney or Obama.

How exactly does having 55% of your goal when it comes to delegates mean it’s “over?” 55% is a failing grade by most measures, except perhaps at your local government schools. Why don’t you predict for us on what day Mitt Romney will finally have the 1,144 delegates he needs?

While it would be highly unlikely for Newt to get to 1,144 there is a definite possibility that he can collect enough to deny Romney his magic number. Then the grass-roots can have an epic showdown with the establishment at the convention.

This is also still entirely up to the voters. If Newt wins every state from this point on, he actually would win the primary outright. So the only thing defining this as “over” for Mitt is sheep like yourself on the GOP establishment plantation who enjoy licking the boots of their GOP establishment masters.

I can guarantee you if this was 2008 and Obama was in Newt’s position with Hillary in Romney’s position, the Obama leftists would be FIGHTING LIKE HELL to deny Hillary the nomination and throw the battle to a floor fight at the convention. The question is why are some conservatives such wimps with no ability to set a lofty goal and fight for it?

The race is NOT over. Why would you say it’s over? If we can keep Romney from getting half of the remaining delegates we can keep Romney from getting the nomination. This is not over by a long shot.

Does it bug you in the slightest that the “pro-life” groups are endorsing Romney, calling him “pro-life” based just on his Etch-A-Sketch promises when he needs them to try to suppress a Newt surge, even though Romney has overseen COERCED ABORTION in Massachusetts? That is WAY, WAY beyond the pale. That paved the way for Obama, and if Romney is our candidate that totally blows away our chance to bring attention to the tyrannical tendencies of Obama. Nominating Romney is suicide - which should be obvious to us all when we see that Soros has said he doesn’t care whether it’s Obama or Romney who gets in because it’s the same thing either way.

Why do you think the “pro-life” groups are doing this? I have conversed with Steven Ertelt of LifeNews, asking him to take my name off their mailing list. He won’t take my name off and he insists that Romney is pro-life but that they haven’t endorsed him. What they’ve run is article after article about NRLC affiliates endorsing Romney based on his Etch-A-Sketch promises that conflict with his promises to the pro-aborts and his record of action.

There’s more at stake here than just Romney himself. This is the buy-off of the “pro-life” community as well. We’ve already seen all the legal systems and media go to heck (including committing crimes themselves as well as ignoring crimes by Obama’s people) in order to cover for Obama’s ineligibility, and now we’ve got even the “good guys” covering for Mitt Romney now. We’re losing everything that means anything - on both sides of the aisle, and in both governmental and civic arenas.

This is worth fighting for. It’s NOT impossible, and the people who want us to think otherwise are the forces that have sold out to the corruption and lawlessness in EVERYTHING.

At this point those who try to convince us that it’s hopeless are at best dead weight trying to hold us down from fighting for everything that’s worth fighting for. I hope you won’t be one of those people. We CAN do this, if we only will.

I don’t think there’s been a single name brand poll since Santorum dropped out. They’ve all decided who our nominee is, and they don’t see any reason to report on the state of the upcoming primaries anymore. I think it would be breathtaking if Newt could just pull enough votes in Delaware and/or North Carolina to FORCE the media to mention him. I’ll stand with Newt until Newt stands down.

Good!

Realistically, Newt Gingrich becomes politically relevant at the point that he wins a state and proves that the Republican Party is not unified behind Mitt Romney. That is going to be very difficult to do, but not impossible.

Maybe a small state like Delaware is the key.

Hearing that Adelson’s wife gave $5 million to Gingrich’s PAC is also very good news. I’m not tremendously happy with the idea of a casino mogul bankrolling a potential future United States president, but under the circumstances, I guess we need to take our allies where we can get them.
