Rocker Ted Nugent has been cleared by the Secret Service of making threats against the president after what the Motor City Madman called a positive meeting in Oklahoma City, but the announcement will affirm what Northwest gun rights activists have been saying this week.
The folks on the Northwest Firearms forum have been carrying on two discussions about the Nugent controversy, here and here, and at the WaGuns forum here.
"Good, solid, professional meeting concluding that I have never made any threats of violence towards anyone. The meeting could not have gone better.Ted Nugent, as quoted by Reuters.
This column was in St. Louis when Nugent made his caustic remarks, and raised the question whether he may have gone too far, or whether what he said was protected speech. But Democrats looking for any distraction from Obama administration debacles from the mangled economy to Operation Fast and Furious and last weeks smear of Ann Romney by party strategist Hilary Rosen especially because they could link this to Republican Mitt Romney, who Nugent endorsed back in March jumped on Nugents comments.
"The Secret Service interview of Ted Nugent has been completed. The issue has been resolved. The Secret Service does not anticipate any further action."Secret Service spokesman Brian Leary
Democratic National Committee chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz feigned shock and offense at Nugents remarks, and Uncle Ted promptly fired right back, calling her a brain-dead, soulless, heartless idiot. Thats Nugent for you: offending genuine brain-dead idiots by lumping Wasserman Schultz in with their lot.

Nah, nothing was ever going to happen to The Nuge. It was clear what he said and I’m sure he was pretty cool at the interview.
FUBO!
That really is kind of a low blow, Uncle Ted.
Who give’s a crap about Coulter, that Romney and Christie Bot.
Farrakhan will be cleared next?
