Unfortunately this appears to be the case. In 1943 there were massive race riots in the US and they even spread to black US soldiers in England.

Thursday 24 June 1943,

“In the wake of Detroit (Belle Isle) other riots broke out in Texas, Massachusetts, Ohio and Harlem. Few would have anticipated the shock waves spreading 4,000 miles or so to northern England!”

“Some ninety-six hours or so after the problems began in Belle Isle, black Americans commandeered weapons and trucks from their quarters in Bamber Bridge in Lancashire, smashed through the gates and drove into town determined to open fire on all military vehicles and military police. News of the Detroit riot had quickly reached Britain.”

The excerpt is from the book “When Jim Crow Met John Bull”, about black soldiers in England during ww2. The excerpt can be found by googling the book title plus a few key words.

There was also a major riot by black troops in Australia in 1942 where black soldiers machine-gunned the tents of their white officers. ("According to the findings, the soldiers took to the machine guns and anti-aircraft weapons and fired into tents where their white counterparts were drinking"). Then-congressman Lyndon Johnson went to Australia and made a report of the incident, which was suppressed for 70 years.

Next time somebody says that no large conspiracy could be kept quiet for long, reflect upon the fact that this incident occurred and no mention of it was made in reference books or newspapers at the time.
