War on Chelsea (Another dog-related controversy...)
NY Post ^ | 4/23/12 | MICHAEL STARR

Chelsea Clinton has a problem.

The former first daughter’s new job as a correspondent for NBC News has gotten off to a rocky start — and, after just two on-air pieces (thus far) for “Rock Center with Brian Williams” and the “NBC Nightly News,” she has become the target of withering criticism from inside the TV world.

And it’s only getting worse.

A piece headlined “Chelsea Clinton, TV’s Dork Diva, Struggles at NBC” that appeared last week on the media site buzzfeed.com has renewed questions about her qualifications for the job — and NBC’s motives for hiring her.

I wondered why so many people fell into the unseemly trap of ridiculing Clinton’s daughter based on her appearance when her parents’ behavior was relevant to the public sphere and ripe with ridicule worthy behavior.
(e.g., if you don’t like your neighbor’s politics - do you ridicule their kids based on their appearance?)
If her parents had been wise republicans, would Chelsea still be the object of cosmetic scorn?
I think the kid had it rough enough just BEING the child of those worthless power hungry idiots, I don’t see following her through life barking at her.

She can’t hold a real job either. Just like her ski-bum hubby.

.
Are qualifications really necessary? What about her mom’s?

In the end, reality rules.

Chelsea is not easy on the eyes...and her personality does not erase that disadvantage.

She looks like her daddy, Webb...she'll do fine in radio and on the internet (if she actually decides to work).

Reality sucks...but it rules!

This ordinary young woman would be fetching coffee at a construction company except for her name.

It’s the industry she chose—the MSM—that is ridiculing her.
“she has become the target of withering criticism from inside the TV world.”
We’re just piling on.
She’s been given all the advantages that accrue to the offspring of power elite: the Sidwell school, private undergraduate (pass/fail twit training) school, friendships, contacts and references ... and she has overcome it all by being overwhelmingly less than mediocre.
And even with cosmetic surgery, at her tender age, the poor creature just doesn’t, I say, I say, the poor thing could make a freight train jump track for a dirt road.
Lecture someone else who doesn’t care, maybe over at the DUmpster about leaving the Palins and their public school raised kids alone.

Oh please, "degrees" from Stanford and, lol, Oxford, edge fund jobs with no experience, and now on-air talent on a major network news program...

If her name were Chelsea Clifton, she'd have none of that.

I don’t see following her through life barking at her.

What you don't get is, that she will be following you through life, barking at you.

Chelsea is getting her “ticket punched.” She’ll be in elective politics in 10 years or so with what will look like an impressive resume... as long as you don’t look too closely at it. Sort of like her mother.

Alison O’Brien, who’s producing Clinton’s next piece for “Rock Center” — her first since last February, about wasting perfectly good food — calls Clinton “smart and focused.

Her last report was about wasting perfectly good food? I would almost watch her spew drivel out of some weird perverse pleasure but I am not that masochistic. Trying to remember the last time I actually watched something on NBC beyond channel surfing and I honestly cannot. Probably Seinfeld in the mid 1990s.
