More details are starting to emerge about the 'wild night' of partying in Cartagena, Colombia that has engulfed the Secret Service in a growing prostitution scandal.

The Washington Post reports today that some of the men involved are arguing that they did know the women that they brought back to their hotel were prostitutes. Moreover, some of the agents have reportedly said they did not have sex with the prostitutes because they "were so drunk that they fell asleep immediately after bringing the women to their rooms."

Twelve agents were implicated in the scandal, although one has since been cleared of serious misconduct. Eight of the agents have been ousted from the Secret Service. Two agents face demotion, and another has been recommended for dismissal but can still work for federal agencies.

The Post reports that some of the agents who resigned are now reconsidering their decision, and have claimed that similar behavior was tolerated by agency supervisors on other official trips.

“The Post reports that some of the agents who resigned are now reconsidering their decision, and have claimed that similar behavior was tolerated by agency supervisors on other official trips.”

How do these guys look themselves in the mirror? “Hey, they let us screw local whores before, so they can’t say it’s not okay this time”.

Disgusting.

How stupid. The ultimate LE job, and they didn’t think any more of their jobs than to do this?

Something just doesn’t add up.

Also, am I to really believe there were WH personnal there, but they did not participate? This requires the willful suspension of disbelief......

Not so surprising really, just take a look at the society we live in. Seems like responsibility for oneself is seen as a weakness.

The DK’s wrote a song about this:

Went to a party
I danced all night
I drank 16 beers
And I started up a fight

But now I am jaded
You’re out of luck
I’m rolling down the stairs
Too drunk to ——

Too drunk to ——
Too drunk to ——
Too drunk, to ——
I’m too drunk, too drunk, too drunk
To ——

I like your stories
I love your gun
Shooting out truck tires
Sounds like loads and loads of fun

But in my room
Wish you were dead
You ball like the baby
In Eraserhead

Too drunk to ——
Too drunk to ——
Too drunk, to ——
It’s all I need right now
Too drunk to ——

Too drunk to ——
Too drunk to ——
Too drunk, to ——
I’m sick soft gooey and cold
Too drunk to ——

I’m about to drop
My head’s a mess
The only salvation is
I’ll never see you again

You give me ——
It makes it worse
Take out your ——— retainer
Put it in your purse

I’m too drunk to ——
You’re too drunk to ——
Too drunk to ——
It’s all I need right now Oh baby
I’m melting like an ice cream bar
Oh baby

And now I got diarrhea
Too drunk to ——
Yeah, Yeah
Yeah, Yeah
Yeah, Yeah
Oooohhh

This is utter insanity. If this is the normal behavior, no President stands a chance.

As a businessman, I have traveled on the company dime. One fact you are informed of, upon being hired is that your actions reflect upon the company. So, if you are on a company paid trip, what you do reflects upon the company - both during AND after work hours.

My company often sent folk to Singapore - and if they did something ‘inappropriate’ and it was discovered - the result was often immediate termination. This included drug use (even if it is legal there), underage girls, bribes, kick-backs, and drunken parties. Get drunk in the hotel bar, where you can be seen by the customer - don’t plan on getting a warm reception when you get back.

However, meet your customer and take him out for a drink - say a Single Malt Whiskey ... that was fine.

Why would the Gov’t be any different?

The job is the USSS is very stressful. I knew a guy who was in it for 6 years. He was considered an old timer. Generally, the burn out time is about 2 years. When I heard about this in Colombia was not surprised, this is nothing new to me.

I really have no reason to believe in any conspiracy until I see proof of it.

Some people like sex, and when your job is stressful and there is opportunity, some people take advantage of it.

That doesn’t make it right. Find other, useful ways, to release one’s stress.

“...claimed that similar behavior was tolerated by agency supervisors...”

###

Therein lies the problem. No enforcement of policies and rules on behavior. Hard to believe in the SS.

“Why would the Gov’t be any different?”

It shouldn’t be any different but in every area of government they don’t play by the same rules as PRIVATE citizens and businesses!

They also don’t work as hard as people who can be fired on the spot. They take their damn good time whenever they do ANYTHING. If you don’t like it...tough! What do you think you can do about it?!
