Defending the “Palin Pick”
patheos.com ^ | April 30, 2012 | Bristol Palin

Posted on 04/30/2012 9:41:23 AM PDT by Resettozero

Most of you know I’d rather post photos of my family and write about Alaska than talk about politics. But after reading and watching some recent commentary, I can’t help myself.

The chattering class is talking – endlessly – about Mitt Romney’s choice of a Vice Presidential running mate. Will he choose a Governor? A Senator? A Congressman? There are many good options for Governor Romney – and all of them have already been dissected in the media – with a list of pros and cons beside their names. One is too “northern,” another is too “boring,” another is too “white.” I’ve lived through the scrutiny the family will endure, and it can be a nightmare.

I don’t pretend to know the best pick for Governor Romney. But there’s one theme that keeps coming up, and it’s ridiculous: that Governor Romney should avoid Senator McCain’s mistake in his Vice Presidential running mate decision.

Excellent essay one glaring omission. She should have mentioned how Sarah kicked Biden’s butt in the debate.

HELL NO, but I know if we don't get behind ROMNEY, we will lose...and I'm not just saying lose the 2012 election...but our RIGHTS and the CONSTITUTION!!!

If Romney picks Rubio, I have double the reasons NOT to vote for him. The Constitution is already being trampled; the fact that Rubio, a non-natural-born citizen, is being proposed is proof of that. Obama will trample it even more quickly after the election. Better to get it over with, than have it blamed on a Republican.

Living in Wasilla in an apartment under her mom’s studio and working as a dermotoligist’s assistant or so I read somewhere earlier this year. Don’t know if it’s true or not.

[”...it’s not like Alaska is going to go Democrat.”]

After having once lived in AK for several years, I would not place odds on that. AK voters can be a fickle lot.

You may be right not voting for Mitt, as in “DEAD RIGHT” for the irreparable damage to the country a second Obama term will wreak

Bristol paid cash for a home here in AZ, she also gets paid very well as a speaker at events &C. IIRC, she also has her own radio show upcoming.

But the one Palin to watch in the coming years is Piper. If she doesn't mess up, the sky will be the limit for her.

What an elegant, well thought out and true comment concerning her inestimable mother’s service to our country as vice presidential candidate. I’m so glad Sarah showed up to show America we still can field the caliber of candidate she exemplifies from within our nation’s citizenry. And what a fine, thoughful young lady, Bristol turned out to be! I’d write a line or two comparing her to Mccain’s kid but that comparison is completely unnecessary. hahaaha. Bristol, judgeing by this comment is truly her mother’s daughter. I for one am proud of her. To tell you the truth her recount sounds like the kind of outcome you’d get if you let SARAH herself home school your child.

We can only pray that Romney picks Sarah.....he couldn’t do better.....she would energize the base, excite the world and take a lot of abuse for Romney......

Sarah Palin is the best choice for VP he could make......but does he have the balls to make it.......

Romney is an administrator, he needs someone with passion, and NOBODY does it better than Sarah

"We can only pray that Romney picks Sarah"

I disagree. I was 100% in favor of Sarah for VP in 2008.

But I would like to see Romney do the following (assuming he's elected):

Abolish the Depts of Interior, Energy and EPA.

Combine these three into one smaller Dept.

Appoint Sarah Palin Secretary of this new Dept.

By the way, I'd also like to see him appoint Rick Santorum as Secy of HHS.

Palin looking better

Kimberly Atkins’ logic is flawed (“Palin factor puts women in back row,” April 30). To state that putting a woman on the ticket will seem like “gamey-changey” stuff does a disservice to hundreds of women in the political and corporate fields who could run rings not only around Joe “Foot-in-Mouth” Biden but around Barack Obama as well. In hindsight, after three-and-a-half years of the current dynamic duo in power, McCain-Palin doesn’t seem so bad now.
