Judge Tells Doctor It Is 'Inappropriate' To Say He Is A Christian At Work

Judge Tells Doctor It Is 'Inappropriate' To Say He Is A Christian At Work A Christian doctor sacked after emailing a prayer to colleagues lost his claim for unfair dismissal after a tribunal judge ruled that there was no place for religious references at work.

By Victoria Ward and John Bingham 03 May 2012 Dr David Drew, 64, told an employment tribunal that he was made to feel like a "religious maniac" after sending out the prayer by St Ignatius Loyola, founder of the Jesuits, to motivate his department.

But Employment Judge David Kearsley ruled that if complaints were made about Muslim or Hindu doctors who had quoted from holy texts, they too would be asked to refrain from such behaviour.

Similarly, if an atheist consultant caused unease by trying to educate his colleagues about "the works of Richard Dawkins or Christopher Hitchens", he or she would be treated in the same way, the judge said. Dr Drew, a former clinical director, said the prayer was intended to offer inspiration in his "frail and imperfect efforts" to serve his patients and the department.

The Birmingham tribunal heard that he had also sent emails to colleagues in which he quoted from poems and from the Bible. One said he found it "strange" and another felt they were "bizarre and inappropriate".

I just don’t understand this modern phenomena of taking offense at diverse views. I’m a Christian, but I have no problems whatsoever working with everything from atheists to Zionists. I also don’t consider it offensive if they want to proselytize me. I’m fully prepared to discuss and defend my own views and listen respectively to opposing ones. Now that is true diversity and religious freedom, isn’t it?

Though were he an islamist “doctor” cutiing the clitoris’s from other islamists that would no doubt be okay with this “judge”.

Matthew 5:10 Blessed are those who have been persecuted for the cause of righteousness, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven.

Christians can make no mention of their point of view as construction continues building Mosques in hospitals, schools and government buildings.

This kind of action is evidence that the formerly great Britain is further down that slippery slope to economic collapse, Sharia Law, and oblivion. We are well on our way, too, in the declining USA, with our culture of death and rise of fringe, lunatic groups.

There is no place for religion in Britain.

“There is no place for religion in Britain.”

An ironic comment from an American about the UK.

Why? Well despite this ruling, the UK is an officially christian country and the US is officially secular. Our head of state is also the head of our church. Our parliament has lords spiritual - lords who vote on all legislation put before the house to ensure a christian influence and perspective is considered. All of the lords spiritual are christian, no other religions are represented in this way. There is no separation of church and state in the UK and my local state school sings christian hymns every morning before class.

I suspect the doctor in question was rather unsubtle and evangelical in his communications and failed to quit when requested to do so by colleagues.

My 86 year old uncle is a retired surgeon who has been a Christian his whole life. He was known for being on his knees in prayer before he operated, and led many patients to the Lord in his office. He was also a gifted surgeon, and a man who loved me and stood by me during the darkest hour of my life. He has made millions of dollars, yet has given much away, and has lived in the same modest home for 50 years with his wife of 67 years.

Impeach the judge. If I don't want my doctor preaching to me, I'll find a different doctor.

If I want to take communion at the same time I'm getting that pain in my shoulder looked at, then that should also be up to me.

Activist judges like this are a plague. One that is helping to kill our Country.
