Trayvon and Zimmerman: The Structure and Elements of a Disinformation Campaign
American Thinker ^ | May 3, 2012 | Scott Swett

Posted on 05/03/2012 2:01:19 AM PDT by Flotsam_Jetsome

"Trayvon," of course, is Trayvon Martin, the black 17-year-old who was killed two months ago in Florida. "Zimmerman" is George Zimmerman, the neighborhood watch captain who shot him. Referring to Martin by his first name and Zimmerman by his last is just one small tactic in the national media campaign to make Martin's death an enduring symbol of white racism.

The Trayvon campaign is accurately described as "disinformation" because deception is a fundamental part of its planning, strategy, and implementation. Leftist disinformation campaigns are common but not widely understood. This article is intended to make them easier to recognize, and to provide a framework for additional research and investigation. Whether or not George Zimmerman was justified in pulling the trigger is outside the scope of this analysis.

In the whole history of the universe, it has only occurred to three people to ask about his arrest record?

Juvenile arrest records are generally sealed. And the Martin attorneys have taken steps to ensure they stay sealed.

It seems to me that the left is backing away from the Trayvon episode now.

The whole thing is a net loser for those who claimed racism, and it’s becoming a loser for those who assumed Trayvon to be the victim.

It also shows how closed-minded they are, libs simply could not fathom a scenario in which Zimmerman was actually attacked and defended himself. They’re having to consider it now, as evidence backing Zimmerman has surfaced. Of course, the ms media are ignoring all exonerating information, but the alternative media are getting the message out.

Look for them to shut up on Trayvon/Zimmerman, because they’re going to have to play defense. Yet another backfire on the horizon.

A must read and share! Most thorough analysis anywhere.

Only addition would be pictures.... the pictures of Zimmermn’s head, the google of the scene and the comparative pictures of BO, TM and GZ. (No doubt it's Zimmerman that looks like a relative of the president, not Martin)

Obama has placed in the EO book - his right to declare martial law during periods of unrest. While this is usually done by all Presidents, I find Obama’s wording slightly more ominus. We must always remember that Obama grew up in a household of family who fomented riots to gain power.

I am concerned that Obama’s plans for America include that element; and Obama’s friends seem to be willing to foment that element at a moment’s notice.

Thankfully, cooler heads prevailed; but these people now in office are truly scary.

At the very least, it’s worth paying attention to these sorts of race-baiting campaigns. It wouldn’t take all that much to touch off a Rodney King-level event, or worse.

Yes and President Lincoln was putting together a colony somewhere in Latin America.....

For the last two or three years of the war, Lincoln had Gen. Dan Sickles (of the Wheatfield at Gettysburg) down in Panama, which was then a province of New Granada, and in Bogota.

Lincoln's idea was to use about 2,000,000 emancipated slaves to dig the Panama Canal. After the canal was completed, they would remain in Panama as their new country.

Evidently, Lincoln had deep reservations about the utility and feasibility of leaving 4-5,000,000 emancipated slaves in the U.S., or the ability of two large and distinct populations to get along. Frederick Douglass may have changed Lincoln's mind about the capacity of the black man to learn and articulate a reasoned argument; but if black people were educable, that implied nothing very hopeful about whether two different peoples, two societies, could co-exist within the same borders, in the same political economy.

Just a few days before the assassination, Lincoln received a progress report from Sickles, apparently transmitted by General Ben Butler, who had an appointment with Lincoln that week. Butler, Gen. Nathaniel Banks, members of the Blair family, and , early in the war, Thurlow Weed and Ward Hill Lamon (Lincoln's Marshal of Washington and White House Chief of Protocol), were the people Lincoln typically engaged in confidential or sensitive matters (such as his arrest warrant for Chief Justice Taney, given to Lamon, and the illicit black-market cotton trade with the Confederacy, which was entrusted to rings led by Banks and Butler, and possibly others).

FReeper GOPcapitalist took an interest in Sickles's confidential legation to the New Granadan (Colombian) government, and while in DC about 10 years ago, he accessed what should have been Sickles's correspondence with State Department superiors about his discussions with Panamanian leading citizens as well as the government; but GOPcap found almost nothing, zippo. He thought the files -- which existed, there were files -- had been cleaned out except for a few pieces of paper. Sickles's journals, daybooks, correspondence, and memos back to President Lincoln and/or Gen. Butler were not there. It may be that there is a separate, confidential White House file; or the material may have been moved during indemnification proceedings in the 1920's , when Congress compensated the Bogota government for the alienation of Panama.

Certainly, Abraham Lincoln's plan to dig the Panama Canal with emancipated slaves, and leave them there (and this before the mosquito had been identified and defeated as a vector of terrible diseases), will certainly have remained a sensitive subject, with its racial implications and Stalinesque grandiosity, from that day until this.

Hey, I'm ready for you to replace Sean Hannity right now.

Speaking of Hannity, he had Romney on his show by videolink last night. Romney was simping and smirking and gloating .... he had that same little sh*t-eating grin "Al Gore" had in that "Manbearpig" episode of South Park from a few years ago, when Gore is getting everyone all stirred up and he's trotting happily around, alarming people and scaring them to death.

South Park lashed out at Gore and somehow nailed Romney, too. Just damn, what good shots!

No one on earth is praying for a Romney Presidency more than Trey and Matt at South Park. They will be free to skewer all things Romney while avoiding the humorless hate of the left. It will truly be a win/win. Their audience might double and it's one of our best chances to convert the humorless left independents to libertarianism/Conservatism.

Regards,

TS

I’m very concerned this “race” thing will explode .. seriously explode .. to the point that he becomes a horrible civil war.

Very scary.

Bumping this in light of today's news that the DOJ helped to organize the anti-Zimmerman protests last year in Sanford, Florida.

Domo. I'm about halfway through the thread that's up on CRS involvement in the incitement.
