The Obama campaign has a cringe-inducing propaganda slideshow called "The Life of Julia" intended to illustrate how the Obama Administration's policies will give government help to a young woman as she is educated, works, starts a family and retires.
If you had to stifle a guffaw, you're not alone.
Yes, the Obama Administration's policies alone can be the savior for American children everywhere - all it takes, apparently, are piles and piles of taxpayer money thrown around recklessly. And by the end, children will still be able to retire and live comfortably on the totally-stable programs of Medicare and Social Security!
The dream that Obama has for Julia's life is scary. There was a time that the "cradle-to-grave" formulation of the welfare state was disparaging. President Obama takes pride in having the governemnt's fingers pushing Julia along at every stage of her life. This is the fantasyland that the Obama Administration is living in - absolutely no mention of the unprecedented debt and deficit that the government has racked up in the last four years and the effect that will have on the economy as the next generation comes of age.
First off, the Obama Administration pretends like the Head Start program is going to be the most vital part of a young child's life:

Nice catch, and earlier this week Obama’s campaign slogan “Forward” — same as communist publications. They’re not being subtle are they?
The reality is that this ‘cradle to grave’ discussion is a ruse. The Obama strategy is to crash the system so the Republic fails and a ‘federal oligarchy’ dream can finally be instituted. When the collapse comes, these swallowing this ‘cradle to grave’ kool-aid will strave to death or be shuffled into mass graves, because they are so dependent that when the obamanoid government cannot feed and shelter them in the bankruptcy, these ‘useful idiots’ will be the hallmark of population reductionist dreams the Weathermen anarchists dreamed.
The stupidity of it is astounding.

Irrefutable proof of the total corruption and subversion of what once was a free press in this country to becoming an instrument of a totalitarian regime. Otherwise, we’d be innundated with comparisons, video clips and context of the character of Julia from 1984. Likewise it is powerful evidence of the fecklessness of the Republicrat party. The fact that this link between the Obeyme campaign ad and 1984 isn’t being energetically exploited by even surrogates of the Romney camp show that they are clueless as to the threat to our country and our liberty.
The smug little National Socialists in the DNC and the Obeyme campaign are probably having quite a chuckle over their little inside joke at the character’s name of Julia. It isn’t accidental. For them 1984 wasn’t a warning, it’s an operations manual.
I’m afraid I don’t like our chances much. Talk to some kids today and ask them about their political and economic views. See how thoroughly they’ve been indoctrinated by the state through their public school educations and the mass media. Teachers constantly ask them questions about their homes, their families, their parents’ activities and political views. It has nothing to do with their education, as you may understand the term. ‘Right thinking’ is praised and the children bask in the glow of their teachers’ approval. Wrong thinking is scorned and the children are humiliated. How many cars their parents have, what do they eat, do they use ‘green’ products, do they smoke, do they own guns? The state uses these answers to build a dossier on the family. Don’t you doubt it for a moment. Most of your kids have been so conditioned to answer that they would betray you in a minute to the organs of state security, not at all thinking that what they were doing was wrong.

Alas, Team Obama has omitted a few milestones from the life of Julia:
4 months: Julia’s mother decides that giving birth will be hard on her figure. She kills Julia. Under Barack Obama, her right to do so is absolutely nonnegotiable.
10 years: Trapped in a failing and dangerous public school, Julia (another Julia, not the dead one) is terrified and miserable. Under the Obama administration, protecting the government education monopoly from competition and accountability is almost as sacrosanct as abortion. School-choice programs are severely constrained or eliminated. Julia falls behind.
21 years: After barely completing her high-school degree in her god-awful school, Julia goes looking for a job. There aren’t many, especially for people without college degrees. Julia kicks around the food-service and hospitality industries for a while, and ends up getting a job as a bartender. Even at her relatively low level of income, she pays a host of direct and indirect taxes to help subsidize Obama donors and supporters at politically connected businesses. She can’t quite figure out why President Obama’s pet millionaires and billionaires need her money more than she does.
22 years: After working in the bar for a while, Julia decides she likes it and wants to open her own place. But she’ll need capital to get that done. Under Obama, there is little or no credit available to small entrepreneurs, because we never got around to fixing the problems in the banking system, instead choosing to futz around with things like the disclosures on credit-card offers and micromanaging swipe fees and grandstanding about bonuses. Julia does not open her new business, and she doesn’t hire any other Julias to build, decorate, supply, or staff it.
23 years: Being a bartender, Julia works late at night. Under Obama, the federal government supports laws that make it difficult or impossible for a private citizen to own a gun in many places. Leaving her bar one night, the defenseless Julia is killed in the street. Ironically, the gun used to kill her was sold to a Mexican drug cartel under a program run by President Obama’s Department of Justice.
57 years: Julia (different Julia, not one of the dead ones) has been paying very high taxes for most of her life, mainly to support three federal programs: Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid. In fact, the payroll tax diverts about 12 percent of her income — income she might have saved — into the entitlements. Under President Obama, stubborn refusal to reform these unsustainable entitlements means that the programs have to be radically cut or entirely eliminated, and Julia and her whole generation get hosed in spite of the fact that they have been taxed for decades under the phony promise that they were “paying into” the programs. The only alternative to massive cuts was an 88 percent increase in all federal taxes, which already have been rising to offset costs from Obamacare, which were wildly underestimated.
88 years: Julia (different Julia) passes away in 2022. And she got out just in time: Policies adopted by the Obama administration sent the national debt to $71,000 per person and climbing.
