High Noon in Indiana: Cantor's Young Guns Shoot Conservative Candidate, Mourdock Fights Back
Breitbart: Big Government ^ | 05/03/2012 | Dan Riehl

Indiana Republican Senate primary candidate Richard Mourdock called a recent Young Guns Action Fund-supported mail drop encouraging Democrats to vote in Indiana's open GOP primary a "strike at conservatism."

"This race is about who's in touch with Hoosiers [and] for the heart and soul of the Republican Party," Mourdock told Breitbart News. He added: "These are the same out-of-touch Washingtonians who want to dictate to the people of Indiana when it comes to who gets elected."

Politico's Maggie Haberman broke the original news story that the Cantor-affiliated Young Guns Network had spent over $100,000 on the mail drop in support of Washington insider and likely loser, Sen. Richard Lugar.

The Weekly Standard's Bill Kristol called it "meddling" in support of the "elderly RINO, "while pointing how other Republicans, like Indiana's Rep. Mike Pence, have remained neutral:

Is there a real conservative anywhere in the GOP leadership?

The new Lugar radio ad that dropped today is BRUTAL...

It’s a pity Lugar can’t find the balls to use that kind of language and tone on BARACK OBAMA.

I sent money to Mourdock last night.

Will have to send Cantor a memo today, telling him he’s next if he doesn’t resign from the old boy’s club.

What’s the new ad?

Sounds like a typical Republican liberal. Can’t find fault with the democrats, but sure knows how to fire with both barrels in the primaries. If McCain had used half as much fire power in 2008 as he did against Hayworth, he would have had a shot at the presidency.

Was on WIBC during Rush.

Full of lies, but you’d only know that IF YOU PAY ATTENTION. And as we know, most people do not.

I, too, donated a small sum to Murdock last night. Will call Cantor’s office today. Maybe if he hears “you’re next” from enough people he’ll pay attention. I get really disgusted when I call one of their offices and no one wants to listen to me if I’m not from that state since they don’t “represent” me. When will they realize that every decision they make on behalf of their home state has an effect on all of us.

This is why the GOP-E loves open primaries.

When a conservative threatens to upset the apple cart, you just truck in the Democrats to vote for the RINO.

Part of how Romney got the nomny.

“Is there a real conservative anywhere in the GOP leadership?”

No. The Grand Old Pee is not our friend. It’s more like they’re `Cousin Eddie’ and we’re the Griswolds.
The GOPee will continue to send its platoons of drones here to threaten & browbeat us, and to beg for conservative help, but then we’re expected to get lost for two, four & six years.
They will re-summon us when they need help, but don’t call them.
`Cousin Eddie’ will call us. (e.g. “Clark, I’m draining my holding tank in your storm drain. Sure hope that’s OK!”)

I’m very irked at Cantor. IMHO, he has nearly disqualified himself as a Vice Presidential nominee.

>http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/the-fix/post/richard-mourdock-up-ten-points-over-dick-lugar-in-new-poll/2012/05/04/gIQAsL4G1T_blog.html ~ latest poll ~ says LUGAR lags 10 pts behind Mourdock.

This poll is pretty much like the Post poll yesterday ~ 700 folks, loaded heavy Conservative, and I think also loaded heavily moderate (since there are no moderates who vote).

Getting close to the primary and Lugar has probably been IDd as a drooler by too many folks. I doubt loading the categories for sample selection makes any difference now.

Lugar is toast!

Cantor is not likely to go down any time soon. He has a remarkably safe district AND he's a high ranking Congress-critter ~ which means something to HIS district even if it means nothing to YOUR district.

At the same time Cantor has this problem with Romney ~ if he shows up at the head of the ticket in this state (Virginia) he might go down. Romney made himself very unpopular with Conservatives. Cantor can't win without them. Romney can't either.

You might see to that problem of getting Romney off the ticket. That's a far more pressing problem than worrying about Cantor.
