Police have arrested a 16-year-old in connection with a mob attack by large numbers of black teenagers against a young white couple in a car, a case which has sparked national outrage.
As WND reported in a story posted on the popular Drudge Report, the couple was pummeled April 14 by dozens of black teens, and the Virginian-Pilot newspaper did not report the incident for two weeks, despite the fact the victims, Dave Forster and Marjon Rostami, are both news reporters for the paper.
Police arrested the suspect this morning, but authorities will not release his name due to his age.
According to the Virginian-Pilot, he has been charged with throwing a missile at a vehicle, a felony, as well as two counts of simple assault by mob, destruction of property and participation in a riot, all misdemeanors.
The attack was first reported in an opinion piece by columnist Michelle Washington.
“Wave after wave of young men surged forward to take turns punching and kicking their victim,” Washington wrote, describing the onslaught that began when Dave Forster and Marjon Rostami stopped at a traffic light while driving home from a show on a Saturday night. A crowd of at least 100 black young people was on the sidewalk at the time.

The young man has been charged with one count of littering, for leaving the victim’s teeth all over the public sidewalk.

Hate crimes represent an absurdity of a one-way street and of unequal justice. Any crime should be charged and prosecuted with equal zeal. Instead organizations such as the SPLC and ADL have made our police go after only certain crimes as hate crimes, depending upon the victims, and allow others to skate by with low priority. Unequal application of justice is un-Constitutional.

There really should be some kind of retribution for that - what an outrage! Not to mention irresponsible. This also smacks of blatent racism by the newspaper, imo.

They were discussing this on BOR tonight. I watched for a few seconds. Then, the guest was comparing the police mistakes with the Martin case. I knew then that I was right in not watching that program.

They picked those people to beat because they were white. If two black people were driving in a white community and 100 white yutes beat them mercilessly, there would be no doubt it was motivated by racism. I am sick of the liars.

You are right. Got two stories mixed up. The Chicago Tribune, once a great paper, has been covering up the crime situation there for a good while because of pressure from then Mayor Daley, Rahm Emanuel, Obama, and Jesse Jackson where there have been black mob attacks.
This type of self-censorship has been spreading to any area with large black populations. I just saw a news article where the police described two assailants as a man wearing ...and a young man wearing... Great information for any citizen on the lookout for the perps. NOT.
Norfolk has had specific troubles with black mobs, over the years. Not a majority of the people down there, but a persistent problem. A friend of mine was a police chief down that area and he left after a couple of years.He was black, and a real professional. Apparently couldn’t put up with the PC attitudes among the political leaders.
It only takes one mob to cripple or kill you, wherever you are. I don’t give a damned how “safe” a city is if you can get hit by a mob like this. It isn’t safe where you are at the point in time, and that’s what counts.
I’m not armed but my son is, and once got attacked by a drunk Mexican (legal). The assailant was one second away from oblivion. Fortunately my son’s combat discipline kicked in and he only held the guy at gunpoint until the police arrived (he had a CCP/CCW). Today he is a policeman and he would have no qualms about shooting at an attacking mob. And he wouldn’t miss. That I can guarantee. A couple dead Iraqi terrorists can vouch for that.

Did not cli9ck the link to WND and maybe they mentioned it later but one of the yutes threw a rock and hit the car window, the man got out of the car to confront 100 people, they beat the crap out of him.
