The entire Obama campaign is a slice and dice operation, pandering to one group after another, particularly those that elected Obama in 2008 - blacks, Hispanics, women, young people - and for whom the thrill is now gone.
What to do? Try fear. Create division, stir resentment, by whatever means necessary - bogus court challenges, dead-end Senate bills and a forest of straw men.
Despite a temporary setback - Hilary Rosen's hastily surrendered war on moms - Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid will resume the battle with a Paycheck Fairness Act that practically encourages frivolous lawsuits and has zero chance of passage.
No matter. Its sole purpose is to keep the war-on-women theme going, while the equally just-for-show Buffett Rule, nicely pitting the 99 percent versus the 1 percent, is a clever bit of class warfare designed to let Democrats play tribune of the middle class.
There is a problem, however. It makes a mockery of Obama's pose as the great transcender, uniter, healer of divisions. This is the man who sprang from nowhere with that thrilling 2004 convention speech declaring there is "not a black America and white America and Latino America and Asian America; there's the United States of America."
That was then. Today, we are just sects with quarrels - to be exploited for political advantage. And Obama is just the man to fulfill Al Gore's famous mistranslation of our national motto: Out of one, many.

Kraut has this one right.
The Constitution recognizes a person's right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. We can often blame ourselves for the failures in our lives due to our own poor choices. When the government becomes too involved, starts doling out things to different groups, and certain politicians preach the "not fair" mantra, people start blaming others for their failures rather than themselves. No wonder the left is always angry. Instead of being mad at themselves, they are mad at those who haven't given enough. If we could get back to Constitutional purity, would the fury in the nation abate?
Follow the money. The left has spent more $ on polling and focus groups than anything else. They intentionally create an issues such as “contraception” or “Obama leaves wife behind” so they can then see
1) How the media and GOP voices react and
2) How it measures in polls and focus groups.
They are marketing their product now before they bring it with the proper packaging to the final market. It appears to be a good game plan. It is no different than Madison Ave creating the right image for its product by test marketing it first in various packaging and advertising.
In before the gratuitous-inaccurate-can’t-bother-to-read-the-article Krauthammer bashing!
Krathhammer nails it....
The playbook of liberals
1. The end justify the means
2. legislation though liberal courts when they can't do it though democratic means
3. A do nothing Senate..
4. Sycophants lying though their teeth every night on talking heads shows..
Yup!!!...always remember....
A liberal bases his “principles” on his “politics”
A Conservative bases his “politics” on his “principles”
Hence 2-4 makes perfect sense to liberals....but drives Conservatives crazy with the obvious hypocrisy!
Excellent point
Ha!....good one.
