On Sundays, Tight Obama Circle Sizes Up Election
New York Times ^ | May 4, 2012 | by Jeff Zeleny

WASHINGTON — President Obama walks into the Roosevelt Room of the White House and takes his seat around a table. The West Wing, as on most Sunday evenings, is quiet except for the tight circle of advisers who gather for a confidential briefing on his re-election.

The gathering often takes place after Mr. Obama’s regular Sunday round of golf, and while the atmosphere is casual, the agenda is anything but: keeping the president immersed in what it will take to win a second term. He receives an update on how his operation is expanding in battleground states, he watches previews of television ads and he studies a presentation on his various paths to victory.

These previously undisclosed sessions, which take place nearly every other week just across the hall from the Oval Office, are designed to bridge a divide between his campaign headquarters in Chicago and his aides in Washington.

Neither Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr. nor any other cabinet members are on hand. Instead, the room is filled with a group of trusted confidants who were at Mr. Obama’s side during the last campaign.

The Sunday meeting, which participants have sworn to keep secret, was devised by his advisers to help Mr. Obama begin focusing on his re-election bid. The time is intentionally carved out to discuss big-picture themes that the president will use to challenge Mr. Romney.

He receives an update on how his operation is shrinking in battleground states, he watches previews of television ads that will never run and he studies a presentation on his various paths to defeat.

Must be horribly depressing, but that is not necessarily
a bad thing.

He's campaigning every minute of every day except when he's golfing.

And even then, I don't think he takes a break.

That would be Axelrod, Plouffe and Jarrett. Who else is left from his old guard? Rahmbo gone, Daley gone....

They’re in deep doo doo and they know it.

Gore was in deep doo-doo a few days before the 2000 election when the 24-year-old DUI story about Bush miraculously appeared, to be hyped by the mainstream media during the weekend before the election. It resulted in Gore getting a plurality of the reported popular votes and almost let him steal an electoral college majority.

In 2012 the 'Rat team will be even more full of tricks--and they will have the advantage of incumbency (Clinton may have wanted Gore to win but he didn't have the same degree of commitment as Barry will have in his own re-election).

Terrible golf swing. After 400 rounds and untold lessons you would think he would look like he can hit the thing.

Bet the small crowds and low polls are killing him.

Pray for America

his advisers devised a meeting..?????....the clown doctor can’t even sharpen a pencil without trying to smoke it....so much for laser focus....he needs help to focus....a team to focus?.....couldn’t lead a Kindergarten assault on a bag of M&M’s

Really, what is wrong with BO and his inability to focus? Can’t wait for the real story about BO to come out. Sounds like he’s ADD and immature and can’t do anything longer than about 15 minutes. What a mess.

Notice Zer0 is in the grass? And he is hitting the ball to the left. That’s where he will hit this nation: to the left.

I wonder, has anyone given out Zer0’s golf score? You think with all those who have golfed with him that someone would give out the score.

Someone with a hidden past is much more vulnerable to an October surprise. Unfortunately, the Republicans are too scared to use anything and there could be so much.
