Your logic is impeccable. Not only do we need to dump Obama and his 60’s radical buddies, but we have judges and SCOTUS to think of. They ARE feeling the heat, we can hold their feet to the fire if we get enough positions. Third party or no vote is madness.

I missed that Post. Thanks for pointing it out to me.

Pointing out that voting against Romney is a vote for Obama may violate the spirit of that truce even though there is more than a little ring of truth in it.

In the future if they stop telling me not to vote for Romney I will try not to “insult” them by pointing out that Obama will probably win if we do not back Romney.

At all costs Obama must be beaten.

That is because many of them are paid to say those things... the others are republicans that do believe that Liberalism is the new Conservatism.

What convoluted world of reason brought you to the point where you twist reality into that conclusion??? I want a Conservative party... the republican leadership is a progressive leadership and the party is a progressive party. I want to change that... and if the leadership makes that impossible... I want to destroy the republican party and replace it with one where the people that run it do not hate Conservatives more than they hate the dims and communists. Do you understand now?

I think you are making far less sense than you think you are.

You say you “want to destroy the republican party and replace it”.

I replied that I think doing this would result in fewer conservatives being elected over the next 8-12 years and asked you whether you agreed.

Building a third party would take time. Conservatives willing to abandon the GOP in the next few years will be a subset of all conservatives and an even smaller subset of all republicans. In the meantime the democrats would stay where they are. How could splitting the GOP vote against an undivided left result in anything other than more ‘Rat victories over the near term?

Even if you think that a third party more conservative than today’s GOP could eventually attract enough votes to elect Senators and Presidents, you can’t possibly be foolish enough to think this will happen immediately.

So the question remains: What do you expect the affect of your proposal would be on the make-up of the Congress and the White House over the next 8-12 years? I think it will result in fewer conservatives elected over that time period.

Do you really think otherwise? Or are you satisfied to bluster arrogantly and ignore the real-world consequences of your proposals?

How do writers who continue to write nasty remarks about the other candidates believe this will improve the base's mood and have them work for Romney?

IMHO, his criticism had some merit. I didn't vote for Romney in NY, where I, at about 5 PM in the Riverdale section of the Bronx, was the only voter at the poll, but turnout this year was low, and neither Santorum nor New had much appeal.

GOP Primary Turnout Down from 2008, 2000

The Bipartisan Policy Center and the Center for the Study of the American Electorate released the study on Thursday. It found that final results from the 13 primaries, seven of which were held on Tuesday, showed just over 7.8 million people voted out of 68.1 million eligible citizens — amounting to an 11.5 percent turnout. That percentage is lower than 2008 and 2000, when voter turnout hit 13.2 percent and 12.2 percent, respectively.

When you have worked for and fought for the republican party as long and has hard as I have... when you have fought in the trenches as I have... when you have given treasure to the republicans in the amounts that I have... then you will understand... until then... you are just another mark for the con-men of gop/e inc.

Some of us have reached our limit... you act as if this year and mitt romney are something entirely different from past elections... but this crap was going on before Reagan... and they hated him but he defeated the gop/e and the dims... and it has been going on ever since.

You are lying to yourself if you think that anyone in the gop/e cares anything about you... your family or your friends... beyond whatever money that they can swindle from you or the votes that they will convince you that just have to be cast for their progressive candidate... "just this one time mind you... next time will be different... we have heard you and we know that we made mistakes... but we will do better... you have to do this for the country... we cannot survive another 4 years of _________"... it's just the same old lies that are spewed at us every four years.

I have had enough and I see the gop/e for what they truly are. Rush and others have told us that they hate us... Rush has talked about this for years... and they are embarrassed by us... their wives do not want to be seen with us... they do not want us attending Conventions and functions such as CPAC... they only want our money and our blind loyalty. King George wanted much the same... some of us stood up to him then and some of us stand up against the same tyranny today. I will vote down ballot for the most Conservative candidates on that ballot... but I will write in Sarah Palin's name for President... because I cannot... not just that I will not... but I cannot vote for that rat bastard romney.

You say things will not happen overnight... you say that it will take years to build a new party. Anything that comes into being must have a beginning. If not now... when? Nothing can be done between now and November but after that... we either lay siege to the gop and purge the socialists from the party or some of us go our own way... and we will take down the gop if it takes 1000 years. These lame excuses based in fear, are the very same lame excuses the left have given us for their reasons for being against domestic drilling... "It will take 10 years for any of that oil to make it to market". They have been saying that for 40 years. It is just the same BS wrapped up in a different package.

Don't take any of this personally... this is between me and the traitors that control the gop.

I am not interested in verbose posturing.

I am interested in securing the best possible future for America.

Obama is a clear and present danger. My proposal is to vote for the GOP nominee in November.

You obviously are much more interested in providing a voice-over for your incomprehensible ego trip than in dealing with the choices we have in front of ourselves.

Fine.

I am going to talk explicit political strategy with intelligent, honest people who want to have the greatest possible positive effect on the future of our country.

I will leave the pseudo-Shakespearean soliloquy-making to others.

I expect better of FReepers but in your case... I will make an exception going forward. We have tried your way for decades. You do know what Albert said about repeating the same thing over and over and expecting a different outcome?

Dunn’s column is a call for surrender.

Some conservatives will surrender, many will not.

When Romney loses (and he will lose), will folks like Dunn admit that they were wrong to support Romney and agree to help to create a unified, conservative party?

No, I am “failing to participate” in useless efforts to save what is long gone. I am more interested in preparing for “what comes after” as whatever efforts made toward “fixing things” are (as Boehner said, “coopted”). You enjoy your fun. I put in my time carrying a “Sore Loserman” poster around when I shared your enthusiasm for “fixing things”.
