>>How is Mr. Etch-a-Sketch going to help with economic issue? <<
At least with the “lesser of two evils” you have a CHANCE that he will not override the congress and constitution. Get a good conservative congress and we at least hold the status quo. Even with a conservative congress, Obama accelerates full steam ahead to Marxism, spouting liberal Supreme Court justices to seal the deal.
The biggest problem I see is that people were infighting SO MUCH that we picked off anyone better than MR. Perhaps we should do better after we avoid becoming Venezuela.
I think the problem with a lot of conservatives, oddly enough, is triumphalism. A lot of us believe that we are the majority, which is false. When the media polls for conservatives and gets a majority %, they are including blacks and Hispanics, who are social conservatives, but economic liberals, and always vote overwhelmingly for Democrats. Bottom line is every Democratic administration is an opportunity for the Democrats to assemble a new entitlement that permanently buys them the block of recipients eligible for it. While we're out RINO-hunting, the Democrats are permanently reducing the number of conservatives with new costly and irreversible entitlement programs.
Take a look at 2004. We had a Republican Congress and a Republican President and the Congress was absolutely an embarrassment to conservatives.
The result was a loss of control of Congress in 2006 and a loss of control of the White House in 2008.
With Romney as President, many (if not most) Republicans in the Senate and House will be able to give up their pretense of opposing big government, big spending and big programs.
The ABO's here are going to be shocked and dismayed.
