Al-Qaeda Coming Back Despite Obama's Claims, Says Expert

U.S. President Barack Obama said last week that the Al-Qaeda was “on a path to defeat,” but Seth Jones, a former U.S. Special Operations Command senior adviser, says the evidence he has collected points to the contrary.

Jones recently wrote a book called “Hunting in the Shadows: The Pursuit of Al Qa'ida Since 9/11”, ....

Jones spoke with the U.S. News website last week about his theory of “waves” of violence from Al-Qaeda and what needs to be done to prevent the next cycle.

“When you look at fatality data, what you see is three major waves of activity,” he said. “The first wave really begins around the time of the bombings of the U.S. embassies in Tanzania and Kenya in 1998 and crests around September 11 [2001]. And then it comes way down after that. By the invasion of Iraq [in 2003], we begin to see a major increase in Al-Qaeda attacks.... The third wave starts around 2008 and into 2009, in particular with Al-Qaeda's successful establishment of a sanctuary in Yemen.”

He noted that “Those waves tended to rise when the United States and its allies have deployed large numbers of conventional forces to Muslim countries, Al-Qaeda has adopted a selective engagement strategy, and governments collapse in countries where Al-Qaeda has a support base. And these waves have tended to ebb when the United States and foreign powers have utilized a light-footprint, clandestine strategy, Al-Qaeda has embraced a punishment strategy that kills a large number of civilians and undermines its support, and local governments have developed competent security forces.”

Jones noted that he believes that a “fourth wave” of attacks will probably begin to happen now.

So, did Barry help “recruit” terrorists by over-spiking the football on multiple occasions? Shouldn’t AQ be nicer to us since Barry gave them air cover in the so-called liberation of Libya?

Gee, I am shocked. It’s not like this administration is secretly releasing Taliban prisoners or anything....

Wait a minute! We all know that once Osama was killed and Obama spiked the football, it was game over! In the leftist mind, here’s what happened: “Osama was a sly fox, and slippery as an eel. I (Obama) knew that I was the only one capable of taking him out. I silently rappelled 200 feet down the rope from the chopper hovering in the Pakistani darkness, shirtless with my face covered in black mud, M-16 strapped to my back, 9 mm on my hip. I belly-crawled half a click to the compound wall, bowie knife clenched between my teeth. I dispatched the first sentry with one punch, and effortlessly scaled the wall. Another guard spotted me, so I quickly threw my knife, scoring a direct hit through his heart. Once inside, I made my way upstairs, confronting Osama and his young wife in the bedroom. Her focus was diverted by my glistening pecs as I locked eyes with Osama himself. He pulled his weapon, but I was too quick. My first shot pierced his heart. As the madman who Bush was unable to capture lay dead at my feet, I realized that I had singlehandedly won the war on terror.” That sound about like the way Obama and the MSM would believe it to be.

baraq is trying to get the public to relax about all quaeda while quietly funding them with our tax dollars.

Bet he is setting the table for a big terrorist attack right before the elections.

Wouldn’t put anything past this guy.

Of course they are. They have an unlimited supply of foot soldiers with the mandate to enslave or kill all infidels (non-muslims) the world over.

Liberals need to understand that their heads come off just as easy as conservatives and the muslims will see no difference.

You forgot the part where his young concubine surrendered and they made love over UBL’s still-twitching body.
