I don’t think so. The Germans are already trying to dictate to the Brits, ostricize them in their EU elite conferences, and have threatened them should they hold an EU referndum. I alo agree with the Germans against Greece in principle, but I am not willing to hand over their sovereignty either.

Each of the countries’ politicians create their own excuses for their problems. Spanish and Portuguese may blame environmental/energy programs, Greek blames austerity/Germany, Franch blames the bankers or immigrants, American blames Wall Street, etc. In the checkbook, it doesn’t matter what they spent the money on. It only matters how much is owed relative to receipts. The voters in each country will vote more more debt because in each country the voters don’t connect public debt with personal responsibility. Of course, in the US the people getting the handouts don’t pay taxes in proportion to the handouts. In Greece and other countries, the consequence is unemployment, fewer handouts, and eventually lower purchasing power. However, until the individual voter can actually feel the pain, he or she will vote for more socialist handouts—vote till it hurts.
My summary of the recent French and Greek elections is simply, “vote till it hurts”.
That depends entirely on WHO is going to do the hurting....
And I have exactly zero confidence in the bums we’ve got running things in DC right now, since if somebody gets the notion that they could prop up the existing scam at least until November or coax another demographic to vote for ‘em, they’re likely to throw another ten-to-the-twelfth dollars at that problem.
Neither I nor my unborn great-grandkids can afford this crap, and I’m just about to go to war about it.

Germany should just start to buy up all of Greece. Let the Greeks move to Turkey, Turks to Syria, Syrians to “Palestine”.
Well, it does seem that the (West) Germans can easily design and build better cars and guns than the Brits.
The Greeks are telling them to shove it, lol. The Greeks are just going to start printing their own money again. Spain will follow suit and the whole house of cards will fall. Then the Europeons will look to Uncle Sam for help and ....oh well, not this time.
There is another thread saying there’s no way the Greeks will able to form a government. If there’s any silver lining that will come out of Sarko’s loss (Yes, Hollande is even more liberal, but I must admit it was enjoyable to watch the horndog Obama suckup & Isreal hater get his butt kicked) and the chaotic situation in Greece... it’s that the EU loving Europeans might be FORCED, kicking and screaming, to do away with the Euro and revert back to their own currencies. If Greece withdraws, you’ll see a domino effect throughout Europe. Pretty much the only way you’ll get the Euroweenies off the Euro is to hold a gun to their heads, and we’re just about at their point. I hope the Euro dies. If it’s dubbed a failed experiment (even though it was meant to be permanent), the cancer won’t spread to other continents.

Well now the party that came in second, an anti-bailout leftist party has also failed, the main socialist party came in third, they will have the final chance to form a government. No one expects them to succeed. With this collection of parties it was probably inevitable that their would be another election but what if the new result doesn’t change things? I think the only pro-bailout parties were the main ones, they would team up but even together they are just shy of a majority, the anti-bailout conservatives wouldn’t join them. Some hope has emerged with a small leftist, anti-austerity but pro-Euro party maybe being willing to join now that the socialist leader would be Prime Minister instead of the conservative. They fear a new election will mean the end of the Euro in Greece.
This is a great weakness of the proportional representation system. At least Greece gives 50 bonus seats to the party that comes in first.
As for Sark, I can’t take any enjoyment. Maybe if it was that clown Chirac, I just hate his guts.
