North Carolinians voted to change the state constitution Tuesday to say that the only valid "domestic legal partnership" in the state is marriage between a man and a woman, according to the AP's projection. The amendment passed 61 to 39 percent with most counties reporting, making North Carolina the 29th state with a gay marriage ban in its constitution.
The state already outlawed gay marriage, but the constitutional amendment makes it more difficult for politicians to ever change the law. The amendment also means that a handful of North Carolina municipalities that extended benefits to the domestic partners of their employees will no longer be able to do so, since marriage is now the only valid legal partnership in the state....

The amendment was voted down in Buncombe County (Asheville).
As others have said on FR. This isn’t about the law and such. It’s about approval. They see us shake our heads and condone and it irks them. They see churches tell them that they are loved, but are living in sin, and they get upset by that. They want that peace that comes from acknowledging sin and working away from it. So instead of doing that, they fight to make it “ok”.

North Carolina has seen through the homosexual agenda and rejected same sex marriage. This short sighted segment that see no ill effects of same sex marriage don’t understand the importance of the institution of marriage to a healthy culture. Knocking down a system that protects women and is the best environment for raising children to legitimize their life style is the worst form of narcissism.
the homosexuals will now file federal law suits arguing equal protection for voting issues and homosexual endorsement issues.
One side effect, it just became less expensive to insure employees.
Homosexual marriage is not recognized in Florida, but how long that will last ? Most poltical power down here resides in Palm Beach, Broward, and Collier counties.
Unfortunately, all three counties are filled with northern transplants from liberal havens like New York and Boston.
Exterminating or exiling the queers is a simpler option.
There will be an exedous from Asheville to some where more queer friendly..
This time all States should secede from Washington DC. If Calif and Mass don’t want to come along, that’s OK too.
