Pit bull attacks 2-year-old in East Bay

CONCORD -- A 2-year-old girl was in stable condition at Children's Hospital Oakland after being bitten by a dog Monday afternoon, authorities said.

The incident occurred about 5 p.m. in the 4300 block of Rose Lane, authorities said, and the girl was rushed to a nearby park, from where she was flown to the hospital. The girl was bitten on her face, head and right leg, according to fire officials at the scene.

Maybe the heroic canine thought he was rescuing the child.

Chet saw pit bulls under his bed, on the roof, in the backseat of his car, (um) `tailing’ him on the street, peering through his windows, auditing his taxes, dating his teenage daughters ... well, you get my point.

But I pay a bull mastiff and an American bulldog to protect
me from evil, omnipresent, death-dealing pit bull terriers.
So I’m thinking you need to contact some hard dogs and buy
some protection. Or just never leave your home.

(And, by the way, I find that story extremely hard to believe.)

Think of all the news articles about pit bulls who have attacked/killed children.

I think it's very unwise to have one around children. I would never own one.

There was a pit bull roaming our neighborhood last week. I’m out for a walk and this thing is stalking me, walking through the neighbor’s yards while I am walking on the sidewalk,

It would start to rush me and when I turned towards it, it would stop and take up position peering around bushes. When I turned my back to it and started walking again it moved towards me.

I darted into a neighbor’s house, did not even knock on the door. I have never been scared of a dog before but this time I was. It was an eerie feeling.

All pit bulls should be banned in residential neighborhoods. They are no more suited for a neighborhood than is a mountain lion or other wild animal.

The story of this 2 year old makes me sick. Ban pit bulls!
