Obama may clarify position on same-sex marriage in interview today
Washington Post ^ | 8/9/2012 | Peter Wallsten

The president has been under intense pressure for his self-described “evolving” position on the issue since Sunday, when NBC aired an interview in which Vice President Biden said he was “absolutely comfortable” with gay marriage.

Biden’s comments put Obama on the spot, exposing the president’s position to ridicule among gay-rights activists who see it as a wink-and-nod stance to avoid alienating conservative swing voters as well as African-Americans and Latinos key to Obama’s reelection.

The president’s challenge was evident in Tuesday’s vote in North Carolina, one of the campaign’s targeted states, where voters overwhelmingly backed a constitutional amendment to ban same-sex unions.

Obama’s campaign released a statement describing the North Carolina results as “disappointing.”

Aides to the president would not say what Obama might tell Roberts today about the issue of marriage.

An Obama policy shift today would follow days of frantic phone calls and conversations between campaign officials and leading activists and donors in the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community.

Whatever he says today, He will lie about tommorrow. And no one will care (aside from those crazy conservatives).

He was for it before he was against it? Or was he against it before he was for it? It will probably be the most brilliant non-speech ever made anyway so the answer is clearly 42.

Bathhouse Barry is a down-low “bottom” who is trying to have it both ways...just as in his personal life.

RE :”President Obama may clarify his views on same-sex marriage Wednesday in an interview with ABC’s Robin Roberts. The interview is scheduled to be taped Wednesday afternoon, with the network planning to air portions of it later in the day.

He is ‘evolving’ on the issue.
Obviously the man is SO sensitive that he is wrestling with the issue every day between his traditional conservative morals upbringing :) and his liberal sense of decency and fairness and social justice. That man is suffering with his conscience just like he was as State Senator when he was FOR same sex marriage.... OOPPs, I mean for 'marriage equality', it was called SS marriage in those days .

It is cruel to ask him to take a position on it now, until after the election of course.

Zippy can say whatever he wants, notwithstanding the fact that 30 out of our 50 (not 57) states define marriage as between a man and a woman.

Having viewed the results in NC, he will firmly declare that he personally is opposed to “gay” marriage but thinks that society will eventually accept it in the future, i.e. the day after he is re-elected.

I want Obama to come out and say that he wants Federal Courts to override state constitutions and state laws. I'm pretty sure he's going to lose now but if he comes out in support of gay marriage, after yesterdays shellacking he took, then I will guarantee he will lose.
