Skip to comments.Occupier Thanks Former Soviet Citizen for 'Converting' Him to Capitalism, Pro-Israel, Pro-USA

This is just downright amazing and frankly I'm surprised this video slipped under the radar.
Here, a man who was born and lived for decades in the Soviet Union successfully converts an Occupier to Capitalism, to understand Israel's side of the Middle East conflict, and to pro-American ideals all within a 15 minute time frame. He even thanks the man afterwards.
Give props where they're due, at least the Occupier was willing to hear the man out without screaming in his face, unlike almost every single one of them.
The video was shot during the May Day protests in New York City on May 1, 2012, but is definitely worth posting now for people to view.
Now, this isn't the first time this man has taken on Occupiers. He did so before back in October 2011, which is equally as great as he schools the socialists he confronts at Zuccotti Park in NYC.
In the 70s and 80s I was so impressed with some of the long conversations that I had with men who had escaped the Eastern block, some were more educated and thoughtful than others, but they all were a fountain of knowledge of their own little teeny corner of life in a society where all of your information is controlled.
They had such a passion about what the authorities did not want them to think and to know, that I was always invigorated and rejuvenated in my patriotism after listening to their intensity and their heart felt relief that they had truly escaped to where their hearts and minds were free.
It is hard to take things for granted when you meet people that have seen the other side and know what is at stake in man’s struggle.
I’m always happy when I come across something that makes me speechless..........Amen!
The kid wasn’t converted to anything, but his eyes were opened a little bit regarding rational thinking. At least that’s a start, but remember, he is a product of our educational system where rationality, logic, and the truth are not necessary to be learned in order to pass.
I spent 13 years (the norm is 12) in the NYC public school system, and I still ended up on this website.
Fascinating conversation, but at the same time so painful to watch the level of ignorance and sheer stupidity of that American child. You could kind of guess how poorly this child was going to do with the conversation when he didn’t even know what kind of government the US has.
At least the kid was patient enough to engage in long conversation unlike the stubborn white woman the Russian guy spoke with back in Oct. 2011.
Neat video. Thanks for posting. He was a one of the most pleasant, least confrontational lefties I’ve seen in a while. I don’t know that he was deprogrammed, but maybe he learned a little something and will continue to explore. I wish the guy from the USSR had given him a business card or something so if he wanted to he could talk some more. Maybe too risky though that it would fall into a mean occupier’s hands. Wow to the video from October 2011 with the same guy. That lady was praising North Korea! Holy cow, we’ve got some messed up people in this country. And she was an oldie. Then the old guy with the horrible neck came over too. Scary stuff. They should go live in North Korea if they think it is so wonderful.
I was never a radical like the left is now, but I had some messed up ideas in the 90’s. It was from being young and stupid and single. I got married, had kids, and started listening to Limbaugh. My eyes have been open since and they just keep getting more and more open as time goes on. That young guy was a perfect one because he wasn’t hateful and was willing to listen. He truly looked like he was listening and not preoccupied with trying to think of some clever leftie comeback. You can really see the difference between this guy and the video from Oct 2011. Those people, especially the old ones, were steeped in their hate and ignorance. There was no use trying to have a conversation with them.
It helped too that the guy engaged him one on one. No good trying to have a conversation with a gaggle of them.

Like most of his age, the kid is an empty vessel, but the liberals who teach our children in public schools got to him first. I would be interested to know where he got the pack of lies he tries vainly to throw at the former Soviet citizen. It goes to show that it’s easy to win a battle of wits when your opponent is unarmed.
The kid was ignorant.
The white woman was a feminist witchette who attends a latte coven and fantasizes about what sort of mass murder she can indirectly enable while wearing matching stilletto pumps as she pops antidepressants.
And, ping to bootless.
ping for later viewing (and commenting...)
Ping for later.
ping for after work
five minutes into the video the smelly hippy knows he’s deadmeat...
Half way through he looks like he is ready to cry.
The kid was ignorant...and probably only there to try and get laid.
Wonderful piece of film. Logic and common sense.
Like you, I had the good fortune to meet and work with some interesting people. From 1978-1981, I worked a a small but growing electronics assembly firm. They were hiring like mad at the time..and the place had a high number of foreign born workers. It was amazing, we had several from India (very smart and very calm), quite a lot of Vietnamese, many of them ‘boat people’ (very hard workers, with their own stories to tell) and several Germans. Even the President of the company was a “white” Russian. But by far, the person that impressed me the most was a man from Romania. Lots of my co-workers thought he was weird, thick accent, etc. But I spent a lot of time talking with him..and it was fascinating.
I was only 22 at the time...and had a pretty good idea what Communism was..but that education was expanded by an order of magnitude by talking to him. He had an engineering degree..but couldn’t use it here..and had to start over. Could not have contact with his family for fear about what could happen to them...the story of his escape while a merchant marine and his coming here to America.
Some time later, we read a story about 5 more men who recently escaped from Romania and had landed in Baltimore. Within 2 days, he and his girlfriend (American born Romainian) went to meet them and they relocated to Philadelphia. I was invited to meet them at a picnic at Valley Forge Park.
I will never forget that day. As I drove up to the Memorial Arch, my co-worker standing there with these newly free men, one of them on his hands and knees, kissing the stones that line the driveway leading to the Arch. That is when it all hit home; just how lucky we are and why we had to defeat Communism and all of its incarnations. My eyes still fill up, with both empathy for those wanting to be free..and the pride I have in my country.
For some of us, we have never lost that. For others, particularly the young and gullible, they have yet to be taught it or experience it for themselves.
Sorry to be so longwinded but your experience..and the video you posted, brough back a lot of memories. Thank you!!
We desparately need people from the former Soviet Union to form activist education groups for younger Americans. They are sooooo brainwashed by the boomer neo-left, it is not funny. The activists should go to public schools and form American freedom clubs where they can learn about and discuss the idealism of socialism versus the reality of actually living under socialism.
Yours was a wonderful post, I choked up a little, thanks.
It’s not fair to engage in a battle of wits with an unarmed man. That was hilarious.
