In Israel, Jews are fighting for their lives.

In the US, liberal Jews are fighting for their Brie.

Some of us are armed, pro-guns, and have used them, including my son in Iraq, my late editor’s son in Israel (KIA), and a whole bunch of Jewish soldiers in Vietnam.

As a Russian Jewish emigre’ once told me about those Jews who didn’t view the Soviets as our enemies, “We too have our asses.” That applies to too many American Jews re Iran, Red China, Hugo Chavez, and the Palestinians.

The leftism of liberal Jews and some conservative Jews is due mainly to the success of Communist propaganda in the US over the past 90 years. They convinced a lot of people who hated the Czar that communists were their saviors and a whole bunch of people bought it, hook, line, and sickle. And still do, esp. in academia.

However, some are finally waking up and the shift will be noticeable in November.

The majority of American Jews are mostly liberal because many of the people who refused to hire them, associate with, or who discriminated against them were the rich, east coast elitists who were mostly Republican "conservatives." Of course, the Klan and other hate groups who were mostly composed of Democrats also oppressed Jews, but their numbers were a lot less where most Jews lived: large, northern cities.

So many early Jewish immigrants identified rich (and not so rich) Republicans as their oppressors. I would think that image has never changed, even as many Jews moved into the ranks of the well-off.
