Obama's politics of distraction
American Thinker ^ | May 10, 2012 | Steve McCann

While Europe is inching ever closer to plunging into a financial abyss, there are moments of comic relief provided by the current President of the United States. He has not only become the butt of innumerable jokes but his re-election campaign tactics are the stuff of low-brow comedy. A case in point, his recent "evolution" in to supporting gay marriage.

**snip**

Why did he do it? Sheer, naked opportunism. Like the contraception issue before it, this is an attempt to distract from how bad the economy is. What will Obama do next in his desperate bid for re-election? Make a claim on the Falklands?

Distraction, changing the subject, putting irrelevancies on the table, and just plain rude interruptions of the adults in the room, all appear to be among the last few remaining arrows in the quiver.

The titular head of the current regime in the White Hut has NO positive redeeming supportive arguments for his agenda, and as its extent and real image become apparent, everybody will have to start talking louder and faster, to maintain the distraction factor.

While this most recent assertion seems to shift the narrative, other mischief continues. The “Fast and Furious” gunrunning incident, that put deadly arms in the hands of drug gangs, has not been sufficiently vetted, and there is more than ample evidence that the current regime has carried out the whole operation for less than transparent reasons, mainly to justify placing even greater restrictions on the purchase and possession of firearms of all kinds.

And why could the Teleprompter Reader in Chief come to a decision so quickly on this sort of question, and is still paralyzed on the decision regarding the Keystone XL pipeline? Strange priorities.

I just hope conservatives don’t swing at this pitch in the dirt. We need to say

“He came out for gay marriage? So what? Let’s talk about the economy”

“Like the contraception issue before it, this is an attempt to distract from how bad the economy is.”

Anyone who thinks that an electorate CAN be distracted from a bad economy is demonstrably desperate.

Consider the timing and "coincidence" of all this. Biden is given a setup question by NBC on Sunday. His response sets off a kerfluffle by the MSM. Carney, the WH Press Spokesman, helps feed the issue on Monday and the Education Secretary, Arnie Duncan, Obama's basketball buddy, comes out to support gay marriage on Monday.

On Tuesday, we have he shellacking of Obama in WVA and the overwhelming support in NC for a constitutional amendment defining marriage as being only between a man and a woman. The reason for the amendment is to ensure the courts do not overturn the existing law on the issue. It was pretty clear from the polls prior to the vote that the measure was going to be supported. It really was no surprised. And one other note, in WI, Scott Walker gets more votes then all the Dems combined in the recall primaries. Not good news for Obama and the unions.

On Wednesday, Obama hurriedly calls ABC for a one-on-one exclusive interview with a sympathetic reporter who just happens to be black and an intellectual lightweight. Obama proceeds to describe how his thinking has evolved on the subject, which causes the MSM to have an Obamagasm.

On Thursday (today) the MSM and Hollywood are ecstatic crediting Obama for his epiphany and great courage for coming out of the closet on the issue. Coincidentially, Obama is off to Hollywood tonight for a huge Clooney fundraiser. Of course, Obama says that he is just expressing his personal view (after discussion wwith among others his wife and children) and that he will defer to the states on the issue.

Coincidentally, the Washington Post comes out with a story today painting Romney as a bully and homophobe--a lengthy story that had to be researched for some time before--but it was ready to go today. Was the timing a coincidence or was this one big manufactured news event that involved the cooperation and collaboration of the MSM to set it up and carry it out at a time to divert everyone's attention of what happened on Tuesday in the primaries? Just saying.

Does the fact that the Washington Post and ABC collaborate on conducting periodic opinion polls have anything to do with why ABC was selected for the exclusive interview and when the WP released its story on Romney? Just asking.

You don't have to be a conspiracy nut to connect the dots. This is just a harbinger of things to come as the MSM acts as the propaganda machine for Obama's reelection campaign. Perhaps Dr. Joseph Goebbels didn't commit suicide and is alive and well in the basement of the WP.

Very interesting....Sheriff Joe about to blow the whistle on Obama being a card carrying member of Man’s Country???

SHOCKING EVIDENCE TO EXPOSE REAL REASON OBAMA FLOPPED ON GAY MARRIAGE: HIS HOMOSEXUAL PAST

COMING OUT: Obama’s sudden support of gay marriage, after publicly opposing it throughout his entire political career, may be prompted by a desperate attempt to prevent impending damage from an ongoing criminal investigation which has already produced explosive evidence about his fraudulent identity. Now, based on his bizarre flip-flop, it is probable that irrefutable evidence has been discovered by the investigation…about his own homosexual past.

Thanks r-q-tek86. Economy's in the tank, terrorists are building explosive underwear, Zero's EPA is and has been making war on US oil and coal production, alleged Att'y General is funnelling automatic weapons to Mexican drug cartels while trying to prevent the enforcement of federal immigration laws -- so, time for the partisan media shills to help Zero change the subject.
