The European Union is about to crack up. Its disintegration is now inevitable. This is the real meaning of recent elections in France and Greece.
French voters decided to oust President Nicolas Sarkozy, choosing the Socialist Partys candidate Francois Hollande. The result was predictable, and in some ways deserved. The conservative incumbent came to power in 2007 promising economic reform, overhauling Frances bloated welfare state and cracking down on illegal immigrants. Instead, Mr. Sarkozy piled up record deficits, imposed massive tax hikes and oversaw the loss of Frances triple-A credit rating. The French economy became subservient to Germany, dependent upon Berlin to keep failing French banks afloat and solvent.

The symptoms are familiar...
—America’s fate will not be so pleasant if we don’t change course now.—
That was a very true statement in 2007.
We didn’t. Our fate will not be pleasant.
The Math does not lie.
Word of the day: Chase.
My German friend is very upset over these results. I think he finally understands why I was so upset over obama’s rise to power in 2008.
If we allow Obama to keep printing worthless money, we’ll soon be known as EU 2.
He says “Syriza openly claims Berlin and Brussels lack the nerve to kick Athens out of the Euro.” Later, he says that kicking Greece out would precipitate the collapse of the Euro.
I agree with both statements.
However, his conclusion is wrong: He thinks Greece will get the boot, anyway. I do not.
If giving the boot to Greece causes the collapse of the Union, then that option is OFF the table. That's committing political & employment suicide, something the EU bureaucrats will not do until the money runs completely out or is worthless.
The only way to maintain the Euro & its massive bureaucracy is to keep Greece in the fold, no matter the costs (to others, of course). I realize this is absurd, but socialism is absurd, so why would anyone expect a bunch of socialists do anything else?
Ultimately, & soon, it will be Germany who leaves the impoverishing absurdity of the Euro.
I'll bet the Brits are smirking like the Cheshire Cat.
Solution: To keep up the GROWTH, the Euros turned to Africa and Islam. We turned to the Turd World of Latin America. The basic economic idea was to get all these strong young people here; working; paying taxes ... that would be paid out as social benefits to retiring citizens who neglected to reproduce themselves at a stable rate.
Surprise, surprise. The Muslims and Turd Worlders are here and in Europe to work just long enough to figure out how to get the benefits. And since they breed at a much faster pace than Euro-type people, they wind up costing much much more than they ever could produce in taxes. With those outrageous population numbers, they will get electoral control. (See Norway)
Demographically speaking, Spengler was right. It's just that his timing was off. Western Christian Civilization will take longer to die than he thought. Apparently, not all that much longer!
