In Mogadishu, a former teacher wishes he had sent more economic assistance and fewer armed drones to fix Somalia's problems.
And many in the Middle East wonder what became of Obama's vow, in a landmark 2009 speech at the University of Cairo, to forge a closer relationship with the Muslim world. In a world weary of war and economic crises, and concerned about global climate change, the consensus is that Obama has not lived up to the lofty expectations that surrounded his 2008 election and Nobel Peace Prize a year later.
Many in Asia, Africa, the Middle East and Latin America were also taken aback by his support for gay marriage, a taboo subject among religious conservatives. But the Democrat still enjoys broad international support. In large part, it's because of unfavorable memories of his Republican predecessor, George W. Bush, and many people would still prefer Obama over his presumptive Republican challenger Mitt Romney. "We all had high hopes for him," said Filomena Cunha, an office worker in Lisbon, Portugal, who said she's struggling to make ends meet. "But then things got bad and there's not much he can do for us over here." Obama's rock-star-like reception at Berlin's Victory Column in the summer of 2008 was a high point of a wildly successful European campaign tour. The thawing of a harsh anti-Americanism that had thrived in Europe was as much a reaction to the Bush years as it was an embrace of the presidential hopeful.

Well, when you present yourself as the savior, you’re bound to disappoint.
Lotsa hype but he wasn't in it.

The world is STILL jealous of America’s capitalist and democratic processes’ success. The losers of the world are so upset that Obama, in his first term, could not destroy it.
And based on the Supreme Court decision about Obamacare (his Marxist takeover vehicle) and the election results, America may survive further aggravating the nation-fools of the world that still think that socialism works. In spite of a 100% failure rate....
The headline is great for its “Obama = disappointment” message, even though the reasons for that disappointment quoted in the article are largely based in his failure to do sufficient damage to America during his first (and hope-fully, change-fully only) term.
The good news is that the suckers who really believed that the US electing Obama would raise America’s standing in the world are probably too dim-witted to read and comprehend the article, and so they can probably be swayed by effective headlines such as this one.
It will be a big help if we can kick Obama out in November.

Old Butch
John was in the fertilized egg business.
He had several hundred young layers (hens), called ‘pullets,’ and ten roosters to fertilize the eggs.
He kept records, and any rooster not performing went into the soup pot and was replaced.
This took a lot of time, so he bought some tiny bells and attached them to his roosters.
Each bell had a different tone, so he could tell from a distance, which rooster was performing.
Now, he could sit on the porch and fill out an efficiency report by just listening to the bells.
John’s favorite rooster, Old Butch, was a very fine specimen, but this morning he noticed old Butch’s bell hadn’t rung at all!
When he went to investigate, he saw the other roosters were busy chasing pullets, bells-a-ringing, but the pullets, hearing the roosters coming, would run for cover.
To John’s amazement, Old Butch had his bell in his beak, so it couldn’t ring.
He’d sneak up on a pullet, do his job and walk on to the next one.
John was so proud of Old Butch, he entered him in the Saint Lawrence County Fair and he became an overnight sensation among the judges.
The result was the judges not only awarded Old Butch the “No Bell Piece Prize,” but they also awarded him the “Pulletsurprise” as well.
Clearly Old Butch was a politician in the making. Who else but a politician could figure out how to win two of the most coveted awards on our planet by being the best at sneaking up on the unsuspecting populace and screwing them when they weren’t paying attention.
Vote carefully this fall, the bells are not always audible.
Almost the entire rest of the world has always sucked. That is why so many came here.
What did anyone really expect? His work experience was limited to a little ivory tower, a lot of community agitation and running for office.
That said, it seems to me that many in Europe believe the media and entertainment characterization of the US as a ‘racist’ country, and that all minorities are struggling against the white-dominated system. In 2012 this is utter b.s., but still plays over there. It's irritating, to say the least. We're not a perfect nation, but we do equality better than pretty much anyone.
I need to clarify that. He is exactly what I expected.

This is exactly what we'll be seeing when the time comes to vote for President. By then Romney will of course show that he's undependable in what he states and how shallow he really is. They'd prefer a tyrant over a fool......
I have chosen not to give my consent to either candidate. They do not reflect even remotely the will of our founders for this nation nor mine.

My sentiments exactly. Too many non-Americans still believe in socialist utopias and a misguided belief that if you just talk nice to bad people (Islamists), they'll stop being bad. The leftist bacteria had infected a great many of the world's populations. Makes me despair for the future of this planet.
People like Michael Moore are very popular overseas. I have a Brit bro-in-law who read Moore's account of the 2000 prez election and believed every word of it. I had to do a lot of explaining to my b-i-l about what really went on in 2000. The thing is, he really wanted to believe Moore.
