DENVER (AP) - A last-ditch effort by Colorado's governor to give gay couples in the state rights similar to married couples failed Monday after Republicans rejected the proposal during a special legislative session.
Democratic Gov. John Hickenlooper had said the special session was needed to address a "fundamental question of fairness and civil rights."

Curiosly, when liberal advocates of gay marriage are asked if their policy also would allow polygamy or polyandry , they recoil in horror and insist that it does not. However, logic demands that it does. I would ask how same-sex parents are going to react when Utah public schools insist on indoctrinating the children that LDS-related polygamy is just as “normal” as same-sex “marriage”. The fact that this will be an issue will show yet again that gay “marriage” is not about marriage at all, it is about forcing the rest of us to approve of repugnant sexual immorality, something that LDS polygamists never demanded.
For gays, it would make no sense to deny “marriage to members of the same family. No offspring mitigates any danger of genetic problems.

I am just so very, very, very tired of all of this. Turned TV on tonight for a while - all the twosomes on HGTV looking for houses were gay guys, the theme on House was about a relationship between gays. Enough already.

I drove three hours, paid $12 parking and spent all afternoon and evening in the committee room to speak against this bill. I didn't get the chance to speak, but it was killed in committee anyway.
I believe you did that. I just don’t believe that elected Republican officials killed it. There’s more to the story.
