Mitt Romney and the Republican National Committee (RNC) will erect their own Nevada state operation to supercede Nevada's dysfunctional state Republican apparatus, according to a report from the Las Vegas Sun's Jon Ralston.
The Nevada Republican Party has long been a mess, and Ron Paul backers who have a questionable commitment to electing Romney recently took control of most of the party structure. Last week, the Clark County Republican Party, which covers two thirds of the state's population, called for RNC chairman Reince Priebus to resign.
In response, Romney and the RNC will build out their own ground game in the state to run the get-out-the-vote and voter-contact operations the state party usually handles.
"Essentially, we're setting up a shadow state party," a GOP insider told Ralston.
RNC spokesman Kirsten Kukowski told The Hill that the RNC hasn't "made a decision and continue to work with the Nevada GOP," while Nevada Republican Chairman Michael McDonald told Ralston he planned to work with Priebus to "build a top-notch ground game to beat Barack Obama and elect Mitt Romney to the White House."
Nevada's messy Republican Party has been the biggest structural concern for the RNC and Romney. It will be interesting to see if they make any similar moves in Iowa, where Paul supporters also control the state party but have been less antagonistic toward the RNC.

Another thing I will hand to Romney, he is well organized and smart.
I had to credit him for this when he was one of the two candidates who made it on the Virginia ballot, and there was another state, too, where I remember Santorum and Gingrich etc. had not managed to do their paperwork.
He gets it done, and I appreciate that in a leader. I just hope he gets the RIGHT things done; I know that is the question.

To call the Republican apparatus in Nevada MESSY is a total understatement.
We need some serious leadership here.
Republican Caucuses were open for only a matter of nimutes in many locations & then closed without explanation.
When persons called for the hours of the caucus, they were told things like: 9 AM to 1 PM. Some people went in about 11 AM only to find that all the doors were locked. Whomever had showed up at 9 AM discussed & voted what they wished & the site was shut down.
I don’t call that a “causus”. I call that a railroading of voters.

Yes, he has someone working for him with good clerical skills. That is a plus.
However, can anyone show me any evidence of anything he has accomplished..I mean that I would consider a worthy accomplishment?
Other than he “saved” the Olypics” which BTW even a liberal could have accomplished.

Romney created STAPLES. Saved it from bankruptcy.
I don’t think the onerous Romney is going to have much luck in doing this. No matter what the Paul people have been doing, this will come across as “carpetbaggers” coming in from out of state to get the results they want, indifferent to the state itself.
They should have seen this problem months ago and done something about it then. As it is, it will be seen as another indicator of how the onerous Romney would run the federal government. And of how generally unprepared he is.
That is, if the onerous Romney is trying to force national compliance of something he wants, and a state resists, he will use federal power to force them to do what he wants.
Think “Romneycare”. “It’s not like Obamacare. It’s better! Because it’s socialized medicine that works! And I’m not going to let some “dysfunctional” state stand in the way of ‘affordable health care’(tm) for all Americans!”
“He gets it done”....Ha! Romeny’s been running for Preident for 8 yrs. He darn well better have feet on the gound after that long on the trail...not to mention his Mormon ducks in a row to see that it’s carried out as he wants.
Any other candidate having 8 yrs. to do nothing but run a campaing and get it moving accordingly could have done likewise. Additionally do not forget that in 08’ he was promised his turn would be next. Quoting Anne Romney...” It’s our turn.”
While you are praising his brilliance and effectiveness during his 20 years of seeking office always breaking spending records.
Remember that he has only won a single election and he didn’t reach 50% in that election, and left office with 34% approval, both McCain and Huckabee beat him in 2008 although they had no money or people.
I read his 20 year campaigning record as less than brilliant and inspiring.
I think Obama shopped at a STAPLES...or maybe he protested in front of one once..?
Obama almost makes Romney look good.

I think you both mistake my willingness to acknowledge his good administrative skills with some sort of jolly endorsement.
We can acknowledge the positive without dismissing the negative, can’t we?
I thought that I was posting a disagreement with your claims of his positive skills in running and organizing a political campaign.
As post 12 shows in regard to his administrating, his 20 year record says that he sucks at it.
He was a Governor for crying out loud, a lousy one, incompetent, as his campaigns have been, with all the money, media, establishment, foot soldiers, paid consultants, he couldn’t beat the 2008 field of losers, and in his second try, he barely beat the worse campaigners of his 2012 challengers.
Nevada is just practice. If Romney gets elected, he’ll reorganize the national Republican Party so that conservatives have no voice.
Maybe he will come in and do the same for my sorry State of Illinois. Judy Barr Topinka, her ilk as well as her ciggy butts have got to go! I’ll never forget their bumbling in 2004 allowing 0 to win! Jack Ryan?!? We suck in Illinois!
