Since President Obama declared his support for marriage equality last week, many politicos (including myself) have speculated about whether black voters, who are divided on the issue, will abandon him. The consensus among gay rights supporters and foes alike is a resounding "no." Sure, some black clergy are outraged, but even they admit this issue is no deal breaker. And the ongoing debate over an unlikely black backlash eclipses what promises to be the most profound impact of the president's "evolution."
President Obama has single-handedly dismantled the "don't ask, don't tell" policy within the black church -- that silent disdain on issues of sexuality that renders black gay and transgender people all but invisible, shames people living with HIV, and masquerades as love-the-sinner-hate-the-sin compassion.

If that verse means anything to them, one hopes they'll take heed and stop substituting a mulatto man and his destructive socialist policies for Jesus and his righteous teachings.
By the time the election comes around, this will all be forgotten and forgiven.
And bet on this, Romney won’t touch this.
The church is supposed to be the bride of Christ, not the mistress of this world.
Society offered the black community money, social programs, and “recognition”; but in exchange demanded support for abortion, gay rights, etc.
And the black church consented; we get what we want, and we’ll support you, no matter what else is on your agenda.
So much for the faithful bride...
It wouldn't even be a deal breaker if he sold them back into slavery. Their mindset is stupefying, and is just another indication on how hard it must be on black conservatives.
Of course - because it's all about the color of his skin, don't you know.
Martin Luther King must be rolling in his grave. This is definitely not the dream he spoke of.
If a ballot had both gay marriage and Obama on it, they will vote against the gays and for Obama, despite anything Obama may do or say. They know he’s fudging for votes, and they’re OK with it.
