Nobody cares that Liz Warren is not really 1/32nd or 1/64th Native American.

You need to review her OTHER book:

Dreams of My Great-great-great-great-great-grandfather

What’s off-putting is that Warren is so clearly not a minority member in any meaningful sense of the word.

Oh?

What's 'offputting' is the mere fact that she KNEW that she WOULD get special treatment by being a 'member' of a minority group.

SHE had no hand at all in writing the LAWS and RULES that GIVE some folks an advantage over others.

Gaming the system?

Don't make me laugh!

100% full blooded 'minorities' do this all the time.

It is EXPECTED!

Usually someone who lies about small things like this will lie about many things

It that like being named after Sir Edmund Hillery or being with Chelsea on the streets of NY on 9-11?

You nailed it!

Before MLK day was a holiday; we used to have ‘speakers’ about Black this-or-that in the afternoon, after lunch, where I worked.

One could get an hour off work just by going to these.

It was a great time to take a nap.

I think the left will abandon her because the lie isn’t big enough. I mean, the left only respects and votes for the big liars. Now, if she had lied about serving in Vietnam, she may, I say may, be qualified to be elected in Connecticut. But for Mass, she is going to need a much bigger lie.

No!

Remembering your dad marching with Martin Luther King does, though!

We have those all the time, for every kind of heritage you can imagine.

The last one I attended (after being coerced by my boss) was the 2009 Black History Month presentation. I was so angry by the time the speaker finished I marched right up to him after the presentation and challenged him on several things he said.

It was an hour long Obama love fest, with a heaping helping of republicans are idiots and black republicans are traitors. The republicans in the room were absolutely frozen in their chairs, just staring at this guy. The boss was watching or we all would have walked out.

I vowed never to attend another of of these fiascos. And since I’m boycotting one group, it’s only fair that I boycott them all.

I’m holding out for Amish Heritage Month. Then and only then will I consider going.

They don’t like fakes over in The Nations, or anywhere else for tha matter. They tend to cause problems for the true bloods.

*chuckle* I once had to attend “mandatory diversity training” and groused about it at GREAT length. Then a cow-orker pointed out that he was getting paid to sit eating doughnuts instead of pulling wires through filthy chaseways and ceilings. “Let ‘me talk all they want!”

The course was given by academics; i.e. useless eaters that were unqualified anything else.

The Massachusetts moon bats although large in numbers compared to other states is still a small minority of voters. The Democrats need the welfare and minority votes in order to beat Brown. The unions were actually split on Brown last time and will probably split again. If the Indian is not having pow wows in the projects she is doomed.

Remember “F Troop”? She’s from the Heck-ah-wee tribe. Many moons ago they walked and walked looking for a homeland. One day the Chief peeked over a hill, turned to his Medicine Man and asked “Where the heck are we?”

Warren is so clearly not a minority member in any meaningful sense of the word. I'm not going to address Warren specifically, but the larger issue that most of you probably have no knowledge of. I would hope that you read this with a open mind in the vein of learning something. First, Indian ancestry is not as transparent or obvious as other geneology. In the old days, there were no records. Tribes didn't consider just blood to be sufficent for membership. There were Indians of other tribes, and non-Indians who were considered part of members. It was the US government that introduced blood quantumization as a way to take land. It is devisive. In speaking with someone, they said that they are Irish but have Norman/Saxon blood too. The only proof was the historic records that they came into the county his ancestors are from. But can't say what day, what boat, what warrior took what maid. Some of you might have similar stories. The government even decides what constitutes a tribe. There are some tribes that have "recognized" status, and others that don't. The Miami (in Ohio) had their status nullified. Can you imagine telling 5000 people that they are no longer a tribe? Try telling that to any other nation. It would never happen. When a census was done, not every Indian listed their blood quantum. Not everyone did the census. Sometimes the census taker filled in what he thought. Not everyone is on the tribal "rolls" either. Some tribes closed their membership. Can you imagine being told that you can't come be a part of your family because the books are closed? All relatives are important, regardless of how distant. People should not be quantumized. That is something we do to animals. It is interesting that some people claim to be related to a king, queen, president, or bandit, and people say "wow", but let it be an Indian and it is suspect and ridiculed. Which relative do you think should be left out of the chain? Because of racism, there were people who hid the family heritage to keep their family safe. If they looked White, then that's what they passed for, in the southwest it was Hispanic. Not all people, Indian, White, Black, or Asian look alike. Years ago, I saw a woman who looked "White", then found out she is the great grand daughter of Will Rogers. My sister and I have had a similar experience with two different dentists in different states. The dentist looks in my mouth for the first time, and said he had never seen such a high roof except on an Indian. Surprise! There's your physical evidence. I am an American of Indian (Delaware, and Cherokee), German, and English ancestry. I honor all my relatives.

Why is it offensive? I’m Indian and it isn’t too me. Many people only know Indians from the pow wow that they’ve attened, where they mainly introduced to fry bread. Cookbooks sell, so why not make money.

I’m not fond of Ward Churchill, but prove to me he isn’t Indian. Read at least some of my rather lengthy post to get some insight. Indian heritage isn’t as cut and dry as some other groups.
