An exploratory oil well off the northern coast of Cuba has proved a failure and will be capped and abandoned.
Mapping an (offshore) oil field is like trying to draw a map of a city when all you have is one in 10 lampposts working and a bit of a fog, Rix said by phone from Madrid. Its very hard to do, so I cant draw any conclusions from one well about the whole rest of it.
Nor does the failed well mean that the rest of Cubas offshore exploratory area, which has been estimated to hold 5 billion to 9 billion barrels, is barren.
The project has generated controversy in the United States, with concerns of a possible environmental disaster like the 2010 Deepwater Horizon blowout and spill.
Many feared it would be impossible for longtime foes in Washington and Havana to coordinate response and containment, threatening large stretches of coastline in Cuba, Florida and beyond.

we had an oil company recently drill an amazingly deep hole on a piece of land we own Texas... they spent over a million drilling the hole supposedly... and it also came up dry.
*sigh*
It would of been nice to get some more producing wells paying us royalities.
Too bad they weren’t drilling for sherry...
What good can liberals do.... doing anything?...
Liberals can figure out how to spoil finding a Gold Mine..
In the Cuban's papers: 'Oil Will came up dry because of US laws! Obama blames Evil Oilman Bush for the DRY Hole!! /s
Thirty years or so ago, the average was 7 drilled holes to 1 prodcuer. I don’t know if those stats have changed over the years.
Sadly, no. And this was prolly Chinese money!
We've GOT to get the Marxist out of our White House ............................................................. FRegards
