Deepwater drilling experts in the US are not authorized to provide assistance to Cuba in case of a disaster.
Even Tyvek suits, available at any Home Depot, for HAZMAT cleanup, are not authorized to be brought into Cuba due to military applications.
Cubas access to offshore spill containment and cleanup equipment is severely restricted by our embargo.
If a Cuban disaster occurs offshore, our ecosystems will be severely impacted, no different than the Deepwater Horizon.
Cuban waters are home to the highest concentration of biodiversity in the Gulf of Mexico and is the prime spawning ground for our S coast fish populations.
We have no agreements with Cuba about an oil spill, worse, there are no talks occurring.
Does anyone think Cuba will write checks like BP did?
we had an oil company recently drill an amazingly deep hole on a piece of land we own Texas... they spent over a million drilling the hole supposedly... and it also came up dry.
*sigh*
It would of been nice to get some more producing wells paying us royalities.
What good can liberals do.... doing anything?...
Liberals can figure out how to spoil finding a Gold Mine..
In the Cuban's papers: 'Oil Will came up dry because of US laws! Obama blames Evil Oilman Bush for the DRY Hole!! /s
Thirty years or so ago, the average was 7 drilled holes to 1 prodcuer. I don’t know if those stats have changed over the years.
Sadly, no. And this was prolly Chinese money!
We've GOT to get the Marxist out of our White House ............................................................. FRegards
