He also struck down a provision that barred the state from deducting dues from the paychecks of those who chose to join unions.

This needs to be appealed if it hasn't been already. This should not be allowed to continue, not only in Wisconsin, but anywhere in this country, IMO.

It seems like a reasonable half-way measure to me. The dues would only be deducted, from those who chose to allow the deductions. That sounds no different than (voluntary) payroll deductions for charitable donations.

If ANY entity can forcibly take money from an individual for services not rendered that is total BS.

It's just like property taxes paid for school districts for education when many privately educate their children or home school.

Years ago when I hired on to the railroad I opted out of the union and was informed by my boss that if I refused to join he had no choice but to replace me and send me home.

Creeping tyranny.

Make a state law prohibiting the use of state funds, personnel, or computers for the purpose of collecting or distributing union dues.
