A YouTube video uploaded on Monday afternoon apparently shows a schoolteacher from the Rowan-Salisbury school district in North Carolina informing a student that failing to be respectful of President Obama is a criminal offense.
The video shows a classroom discussion about the Washington Post hit piece about Mitt Romney bullying a kid some five decades ago. One student says, “Didn’t Obama bully someone though?” The teacher says: “Not to my knowledge.” The student then cites the fact that Obama, in Dreams from My Father, admits to shoving a little girl. “Stop, no, because there is no comparison,” screams the teacher. Romney is “running for president. Obama is the president.”

If this is not bad enough, I found this out from the head honcho of social studies of our ISD because he ran the "workshop": In our state, the only time the Constitution is studied in school is in 5th grade (one unit under U.S. Government) and again in the 8th grade. Another teacher and I were seemingly the only teachers concerned about the fact that the foundation of our country is taught in only two grades, 5th and 8th.
Are you kidding me? Maybe in 2012; but not in 1969 (or whenever it's alleged to have happened.) Your Romney-hatred is causing you to write crazy stuff. High school pranks deserving court intervention is a liberal thing.

We MUST outlaw teacher's unions, abolish tenure, & strictly evaluate teachers for competence. Teachers should have no more job security than anyone else in a free market. Additionally, we must outlaw any Federal involvement in education.

Gov George Wallace ring a bell? John Birchers ring a bell? Some whites would be pissed if a minority moved into their neighborhood. Unfortunately, in the past conservatives had to deal with their fringes too. Good news is most conservatives have become Tea Party and frame their behavior within the Constitution/Bill of Rights. When I was young I started off as a liberal and Democrat, but I have left them because their social ideas and economic ideas do not work, and more important they have become more intolerant while the Conservatives have become more tolerant while the liberals became facist with PC.

Why bother? The entire government school system is a factory for inculcating children with secular humanist thinking. For every government school teacher whose employment you terminate for outbursts caught on camera, there are probably 100 others who promote the same world view through stealth. One hundred percent of government school teachers are actively involved in a enterprise which undermines Christianity, family, church and individual liberty.
So the whole government school system needs to be fired.

A little off topic re the posting, but I thought it was interesting when Rev. Wright told Ed Klein that Obama doesn’t consider himself an American but, rather, “a child of the world” — or similar verbiage. WHEN will the truth get to all citizens instead of just those of us who pay attention?

And my pet peeve is people saying things like “me and my mom” insead of “my mom and I”; or “me and her” instead of “she and I”. Like nails on a chalkboard! And it’s everywhere — news anchors, ads by major corporations, TV shows. arrrrgh!!
My husband was apolitical until he went to Berkeley. He noticed that the smart students in hard sciences who studied continually were conservatives. The idiots studying sociology, etc.. and never did the hard work were liberals.
