Republican Gov. Rick Scott is already getting ready for the 2014 election. So are the Democrats who hope to challenge him.
The state Republican Party is buying television ads to promote Scott's policy successes in hopes of reversing voters' negative impressions. The governor and party are also raising money for his re-election.

BUT he has been good on taxes and bringing new biz to the state and taking on the teachers unions--though he didn't win every fight with the public sector union thugs.
Scott has been a better governor than Charlie Crist...and better than Alex Sink would have been.
Rick Scott faces some headwinds: the liberal media extremists in Palm Beach and Miami REALLY REALLY hate him. Scott Walker hate....and so they are constantly looking to paint him as an eeeevil Republican.
Will he be able to deliver FL for Romney on Nov. 6th? Also, since I’m corresponding with you, SoFloFreeper, let me ask you this? Will Marco Rubio carry FL for the GOP if he is the VP nominee? Could the GOP win FL w/o Rubio on the Ticket?
Under what rock pile have you been asleep?
I’m repeating this to you loud and clear:
To repeat for one millionth time, Rubio cannot run for VP because his parents were not U.S. citizens at the time of his birth.
Do you understand now?
(Probably not.)
EXCUSE ME!!! I was replying to SoFloFreeper; not you. If I want to hear anything out of an asshole, I’ll fart. You need to stay out of other people’s business. Nobody on here gives a crap what you think, so, quit flattering yourself.
On every Republican governor's priority list, dealing with the public employee unions, especially the teachers unions, needs to come first. The unions supply many of the foot soldiers and much of the funding to the Dem party. Take them down first and you starve the Dem party of resources, and its easier to get the rest of your agenda passed.
Take it from me, there is NO way that Obama wins Florida again, whether or not Rubio is on the ticket.. ( and I personally don’t think Mitt will ask him..because Presidents don’t like to pick a VEEP who has MORE star quality than they do..)
The GOP in Florida is energized. Last time out, we dumped Crist, and elected Rubio. This year, we take out Nelson..
Obama is NOT popular in the state. Scott’s done a good job, the economy here is starting to turn around..and in some parts ( though not all) of the state, housing prices are bottoming out..Indeed, it’s not unusual to read of sales for MORE than the original listing price...which is always a good sign.
Our biggest problem here...is picking a senatorial candidate..Nobody has caught fire..and we need to decide on one soon if we’re gonna beat Nelson.
Personally, I think that Jeb will be asked to run...he can force everyone out, and he’ll wins hands down..
I personally dont think Mitt will ask him..because Presidents dont like to pick a VEEP who has MORE star quality than they do.

Then, who the heck does that leave? I guess Orrin “No Charisma” Hatch will be our VP nominee. LOL.... Thanks for the comment, however. Your input was very encouraging. We need an encouraging word on here now and then.
Adma Hasner was viewed as the 2nd coming of Rubio...he couldn't possibly live up to that billing. He's a good guy, a solid conservative, and will now win a House seat. Good for him.
Here's the scorecard:..I think it's current, and accurate (but I could be wrong, or have missed somebody..it's so darn hard to keep track of them all):
Currently running:Fisher, LeMieux, Mack, McCallister, Neil, Stuart
Dropped out: George, Haridopolous, Miller, Hasner
Thinking about getting in: Atwater, Baker, Carroll, Lee, McBride, Ruddy, Webster
Declined to run..but MIGHT jump back in if begged to do so, promised TONS of $$,and NO primary, or virtually no opposition: Bense, Buchanan, Bush, Loeb, Rooney, West
Which is why I've said for many months that Jeb rides in at the last minute, unifies the party, and wipes out Nelson easily. He doesn't want to have to RUN for it..he wants to be asked...have it handed to him...and I can understand that..he wants to devote ALL his energies and resources to beating Nelson.
You have to realize, the Dem party in Florida is in lousy shape statewide..they got wiped out last time, losing the senate and governor's races..and there is no elected Dem in the state with positive name recognition..you can forget all the crazies that belong to the Black Caucus.....they're left with Debbie Wasserman-Schultz and Alan Grayson..that's the BEST they have???
The important thing is that there is NO way that Obama carries Florida, and there is NO electoral path to an Obama win in 2012 without his carrying Florida..we stopped Gore in 2000, and we will put an end to Obama in 2012..
Redistricting didn't go as well for the GOP here as I had hoped...the VRA limited the GOP's options to some extent..but I do think we'll have several pleasant surprises in the House races..remember..it can't be emphasized enough..unlike 2010, Obama is atop the ticket this November, and that's gonna HURT Dems across the state...as an example, there was a column in the TampaBayTimes ( ultra liberal rag) the other day, talking about how Nelson had a good chance of winning because he was going to run several points AHEAD of Obama..They are whistling past he graveyartd..Good luck to them with that. Yessirree!!!
Hope all this makes you smile...tell you what..you bookmark this post, and you can remind me the day after election day how well (or not) I did as a prognosticator..
Be well
Ken, my friend, you done my heart good with that post!
What part of the state are you from?
I’m over in very blue Palm Beach County. But hey.....Allen West is my rep!!!!
The Dems hate him because he's succeeding in turning FL in the right direction to create jobs and prosperity.
What happens to you, and West, with the new districting....? I thoguht I read he was switching districts..
Yes - he represents district 22 now, but is running for re-election in the newly formed district 18. If he wins, he remains my rep. as I live in the new district 18 (currently 22). Does that make sense?
Barack Obama will deliver FL for Romney in Nov. Obama will lose this election far more than Romney winning it.
Yes..it does..West will win, and you will continue to be fortunate in your congressman..
