The Hill [Washington ^ | 5/23/12 | Julian Pecquet

The chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee announced Wednesday he likely won't bring up the Law of the Sea Treaty for a vote before the November election. Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.) said some lawmakers “on and off the committee” have candidly told him they'd “be more comfortable” if they could avoid having to cast the controversial vote during the campaign season. He made the announcement during a high-level hearing with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Defense Secretary Leon Panetta and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Martin Dempsey. “I would like to see this

So these bastards will try to shove this up our collective a$$-s in a “lame duck” session.

At least we have this: http://www.sweetliberty.org/issues/staterights/treaties.htm
“... No agreement with a foreign nation can confer power on the Congress, or any other branch of government, which is free from the restraints of the Constitution. Article VI, the Supremacy clause of the Constitution declares, “This Constitution and the Laws of the United States which shall be made in pursuance thereof; and all the Treaties made, or which shall be made, under the Authority of the United States, shall be the supreme law of the land...’

The lame-duck Senate and pResident are going to ram through as many sovereignty-surrendering laws as possible between November 6th and January 20th.

Geofroy v. Riggs, 133 U.S. 258 at pg. 267 where the Court held at that time that,

“The treaty power as expressed in the Constitution, is in terms unlimited except by those restraints which are found in that instrument against the action of the government or of its departments and those arising from the nature of the government itself and of that of the States. It would not be contended that it extends so far as to authorize what the Constitution forbids, or a change in the character of the government, or a change in the character of the States, or a cession of any portion of the territory of the latter without its consent.”

So, they would be “more comfortable” not voting on this during an election year... Gee, I didn’t know that they were put there for their comfort. Gutless, prissy wimps. Whoever they are, they ALL need to be gone. They need to be replaced by someone who will do the job they were elected to do.

They know that the American people are massively against this concession of sovereignty and would hold them responsible. These one world government' sycophants will just have to wait for a better opportunity to further trash this country. This treaty will be approved in the dark of night when Obama is a lame duck and as a treaty it becomes as much a law of the land as the Constitution itself. Basically it would be impossible to repeal. Elections DO MATTER!!!

That’s all well and good, but somebody has to ENFORCE the Constitution. We currently have a sitting President who by all the evidence so far (including his fraudulent ‘birth certificate’) is not eligible to be President and everyone is looking the other way and sitting on their hands. If the Rat B*st*rds in the Senate ratify this thing, no one is going to do diddly squat about it .... and they do vote for stuff they know is unconstitutional .... Obamacare being the most agregious example that immediately comes to mind.

"in a lame duck session"

That's the way the START treaty was handled in 2010.

Panetta has already declared that he is taking his marching orders from the UN, no longer representing the interests of America. Barry and his entire entourage publicly admit that they have violated their Constitutional oath and dare anyone to do diddly about it. High crimes + misdemeanors = Treason for these folks.

I think it’s cute that you can quote the Constitution with Reid’s Senate and Obama’s Administration in charge.

In other words, the Senate would rather wait until the Lame Duck Session to sell the country out.
