What’s really strange about this is cats aren’t normally kept as pets by Israelis in Israel. They are more like a tolerated pest that’s just there to keep the rat problem down. At least that’s what I have seen in Yerushalayim.

Any one who lives or has lived in Israel correct me if I am wrong.

I’m thinking that this cat lady probably made aliyah from America.

The domestic cat is never mentioned in the bible. The cat was like purely an Egyptian thang, which kind of makes sense because it’s such a huge sandbox.

But yes, I would bet substantial sums that not a rodent (and darn few insects, which are cat hors d’ouvres) is found on the grounds of that house.

I believe a prominent brand of cat food in Palestine is... “Catly.” Really. And that’s probably the catliest house in all Israel.
