Will Obama Pull an LBJ and Drop Out?
Breitbart's Big Government ^ | Mike Flynn

Posted on 05/24/2012 5:58:12 AM PDT by netmilsmom

In 1968, the political world was shocked when President Lyndon Johnson, running for reelection just four years after a landslide victory, was held beneath 50% of the vote in the Democrat primary in New Hampshire. Sen. Eugene McCarthy scored a shocking 41.5% of the vote against the incumbent President.

The result confirmed Johnson's weakness going into the November general election. Within weeks, Sen. Robert Kennedy announced he would seek the Democrat nomination for President and Johnson announced that he would not. LBJ was bowing out of his reelection bid.

Today, the Obama reelection campaign is reeling from his disastrous performance in the Democrat primaries in Arkansas and Kentucky.

"40% of them just voted for ABO in two recent Democrat primary races."

Yeah, in a couple of red states. Elsewhere — don’t hold your breath. :-)

Red state, blue state - doesn't matter. These are Democrats voting in their own presidential primary, in which the presumptive nominee is the incumbent president.

Even if only 10% had voted ABO, that would have been newsworthy, but 40%? In two separate states? That's cause for heart palpitating alarm, if you're a member of the Democrat political machinery.

"That’s just crazy talk."

Consider, perhaps Homeland Security, ICE, & the TSA with their 450 million rounds of 40 caliber HOLLOW POINT ammo currently on order?

Well, lemme see here. There are approximately 90 million US citizen gun owners. How large an army can the above agencies field? I'll bet it's not even 100,000.

And do you really believe that there wouldn't be any mutiny in the ranks, should they be ordered to begin wholesale operations against their own citizens?

I'll bet there'd be lots of it. Defections too, once they began to be overwhelmed by the sheer number of armed citizens fighting back.

I actually listened to Obama today ... a clip on one of the talk shows... for a whole minute. For his reputed oratorical skills, it sounds as if he is not talking to anyone, but maybe to an echo chamber. It doesn’t have that ‘feel’ of his actually addressing or connecting with anyone in the crowd. Cold. Detached.

I think his pulling out won’t happen. LBJ was the consummate politician. He’d had a long run, he knew exactly how the land laid. BHO doesn’t have that gift, and he’s too into himself as the alpha and omega.

Think about it. What compelled that 40% of Democrat voters in two widely separated states to vote ABO? You don't seriously think they did so because they live in so-called red states, do you? Go to any Democrat dominated enclave in a red state, and tell me that you 'feel the love'. I guarantee you, you won't. They're just as blue as their blue state comrades.

No - those Democrat voters voted ABO because he's injured them just as badly as he's injured the rest of us. Perhaps even more-so. Black unemployment is significantly up since Obama took office. His ruination of the US economy has hit that community worse than any other, and a lot of them are putting the blame squarely where it belongs.

'Hope & Change'? Many of those who voted for him feel betrayed and used by Obama. Those who were in the 18 to 29 y.o. demographic when Obama ran in 2008, gave him their support in an overwhelming tide, but their lot in life since that time has proven grim. Even if they themselves have managed to find employment and some measure of security, a good portion of their friends have not - and they know this.

Many in that group have older relatives whose fortunes have declined since Obama took office. It's like a plague that has touched every family. Very, very few have escaped harm. The result for Obama, is a lowered approval rating. How low is anyone's guess, since we can't seem to get reliable polling data - however, these two primaries have given us data that can't be argued with. They were a massive vote of no confidence.

“Hitler was smart. He took the people's guns, first. Bozo doesn't stand a chance of doing that here.”

You are correct, This country is the most heavily armed in the world, most with military experience. Obozo and his followers will wish they had never thought of that idea.

You betcha. I believe the 2nd Amendment is the only reason we don't already have a full-blown police state operating in this country. They're trying to get there, but they'll never make it because the people have the means (and most have the will) to stop it.
