Doc Watson, 89, in critical condition in hospital

Guitar master and singer Doc Watson was listed in critical condition Thursday at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center after a fall at his home in Deep Gap earlier this week.

Watson's daughter, Nancy, said in a telephone interview that Watson fell Monday.

She said he didn't break any bones but that he's "real sick."

My Uncle clonked over last summer.
No broken bones but he nailed his head on the fridge.(he was weak, it was the middle of the night)
That was all she wrote.

I’ve been listening to Doc Watson and son Merle since the 70s. I was made fun of by some but I didn’t mind.

I used to frequent the Bluegrass festivals in the early 70’s

The cool kids got it.
We all were there.

This is what is amazing about Doc.
He encompassed the entire country geographically and emotionally.

Anyone could relate to Doc, Good times bad times and strange times.
