An exasperated Elizabeth Warren told reporters Thursday that shes certain about her Native American roots because my mother told me so.
Surrounded by a group of reporters, the Democratic Massachusetts Senate candidate was repeatedly questioned about why she hasnt produced documentation to prove that she is part Native American. After several minutes of grilling, Warren said, I am proud of my family and I am proud of my heritage.
And does it include Indian background? one reporter asked, according to the first report by masslive.com that was aired on several local Boston TV stations

Smart ... and Pretty!
The give away should have been when her mom told her how special she was.
I would bet that her Mom became a Planned Parenthood activist after Lizzie was born!
Sorry Elizabeth, You were using this to build your political/academic career. Using your own form of a “race card” and you were found out. Don’t say you are something you are not—it only gives proof of your smarmy hypocritical nature. best to drop the Native American mask and get into a new line of work where your liberal prejudices can’t be used advance your interests. Your luck you don’t live in old Japan, you would have to commit Hari-Kari.
I take it there is no way to double-check with EW’s ‘mom’, since I assume she probably has assed away?
Now the new chic liberal defense - “Your Honor, my MOM told me ....”
Mom also told her there was a Santa Claus, and that’s why she is a Democrat!
It’s time that the truth be told about Elizabeth Warren. She’s from Beverly Hills and she used to be the secretary for a rich banker named Milburn Drysdale.
I’ll bet at some point her Mom told her there was an Easter Bunny, Santa Claus, a Tooth Fairy, etc. too.
There are only two wars the USA were involved in where everyone wants to claim heritage to the losing side. Indian Wars and the Civil War.
Everyone is either Native American or a Confederate rebel. I get tired of it all.
My mommy told me, so there!!!!!
Warren’s Indian name = Dances with Lies
Bummer. Sounds painful.
Heapsalotta Bull?
>>> My mommy told me, so there!!!!!
This does not even cover how a ‘prestigious school’ accepted those words without any need of proof.
Makes you wonder if those schools actually admit the ‘brightest’ young’uns, don’t it?
Sorry, you caught me. Oooops.
/hang my head in shame
One of my distant ancestors once saw the Czar of Russia in a parade; I guess that makes me Russian royalty.
Nice non-answering deflection.
Ma told me..? Yeah Lizzie, Ma also said she loved you...but did you ever think she might be jiving?
then get a blood DNA test and PROVE it then you stoopid cow you...
A recent poll here in MA shows her tied with Brown —up several points from two months ago.
AFAIK, the reason is a blackout from the local media, and a $2 million PR ad spend by Warren.
Heritage is a funny thing. I can trace my Georgia ancestors back to before the Civil War, mostly through stuff my mom gave me like obituaries, news clippings and records from my grand dad. On my father’s side, things are much more sketchy because that side of the family was from South Carolina sharecropping origin and not much in the way of records are available.
I have one picture of the women from my father’s family that must have been taken in the early 1900s. My grandmother is very young in it. Her mother is there also who family lore says was 1/2 Cherokee. She looked like she could be - heck, even my grandma for that matter. That would make me 1/16th Cherokee. However, outside of mostly joking about it in posts, etc. I have never, ever tried to trade on it, and I have always listed myself as ‘white’ on forms when it is asked.
Given Warren’s taking advantage of unproven lore, it just reinforces to me the vainess and scheming that is ingrained in most Democrats.
Isn’t the self-esteem movement great?
She claims there are attack adds by Scott Brown on this issue. I haven’t seen any, looks like another lie.
Ding Ding Ding....WINNER!
Mr. Burns: I specifically said “no geeks”!
Milhouse: But my mom says I’m cool...
According to the site Lazamatz showed us this is her name
Your Native American Name Is: Bly Lenmana
Your name means: Tall Flute Girl
It’s amusing to see Warren being thrown off message by this controversy. In the long run, I don’t think it’ll have a major impact.
I think she might have peed in her own teepee.
She will definitely be doing everything she can to avoid Sharman Scarcetti.
That's good...still prefer Fauxcahantas.
OK. Time to back off. She has raised the mommy flag. Seriously, I have family traditions and stories which I treasure but for which I have no proof. For example, that my great grandfather fought at Shiloh Church. The fact that it was passed down as Shiloh Church tells me he was fighting for the south. I have searched the databases but if he was militia, he wouldn’t have showed up. I also have nothing more than the Mormon website saying that my sixth great grand mother was a “Cherokee Princess” but I like that piece of information and I’m keeping it. I don’t however, put it down on applications or census forms. So I guess that’s the difference.
Mom also said “If a man is bothered by your unshaved armpits and legs he’s not worth worrying about”.
My mother's family tree includes a number of names such as Naquin, Picou and Billiot, all common among Indian-French families in central and south Louisiana (and those ancestors lived in parishes where members of the Houma tribe were known to reside).
Have I ever claimed to be part "Native American"? No. But I'll bet I could put forward a more convincing case than Warren.
I doubt if that's true, unless you count "you're not an Indian" as an "attack".
It's not.
Some of my best friends are not Indians.
Heck, most of the people I know are not Indians.
I'd wager that over half of Americans are not Indians.
It's nothing to be ashamed of.
At least I have a picture to back mine up....Liawatha Warren can only say “My mommy told me!!!”
the Cherokee books are somewhat cooked, too...
documentation was so messed up, that at one point everyone who claimed to have ANY Cherokee heritage, became 100%, and that is one reason there are many “white Cherokees” ( new term, feel like we have the liberty to coin a few ourselves, thanks to the MSM ).
anyway, everyone was given a free pass, and the fact that some, with only a fraction Cherokee, were given 100% on the books, and the documenting started at that point....
“he controversy surrounding her ancestry hasnt seriously damaged Warren” means either that the poll is a lie, or MA voters are truly hopeless (see my tagline).
Sticking to this lie, with no evidence to back it up, and evidence from the Cherokee elders (?) themselves, that it’s bogus, shows Warren to be a true liberal — facts don’t matter, deliberate lies on even the smallest matters (plagarism of recipes, paging Joe Biden) are not second nature but first nature, and Diversity Uber Alles.
Ditto.

This is my grandfather. I don't think anyone in my family has ever declared anything for a place in line or benefits. We all check white. Most Americans are 100% mutt.
This uh... woman... has a standing invite here in Northeastern Oklahoma. Spotting the poseur of the day is literally an everyday thing for us.
Yeah, and Baraq’s mama told him he was a natural born citizen.
Her great-great-great grandfather was in the Tennessee militia that rounded up the Cherokee for the Trail of Tears. She’s like a German that’s in denial about a Nazi past.
Your comment in the title: I bet "mom" also told her she was smart, reminded me of what my mother used to say to us kids: "When they handed out brains, you thought they said pains, and you said you didn't want any."
“Its time that the truth be told about Elizabeth Warren. Shes from Beverly Hills and she used to be the secretary for a rich banker named Milburn Drysdale.”
Jane Hathaway (Nancy Kulp): But she only played a moron on a TV series.
