Isn’t it possible that Schieffer is laughing about something else? He is a loyal TX Democrat to the core. He used to say he is liberal on everything but the death penalty.
It is not terribly surprising that some of the press is “turning” on the kenyan after a fashion. The Republicans have put up a candidate they know they can learn to, if not love, at least take some satisfaction in.

Obama HAS been “successful” in that he oversaw the takeover of the U.S. health care system by the federal government, he solidified the practice of “stimulatory” spending, the nationalized a major automobile company, and has added liberals to SCOTUS.
There has been so far ZERO action to reverse this. We shall see.
