Total denial today...LOL...

Admin. I have posted this for the update, but also linked this in the original post in breaking.

In fact, the link in the original article now points to this article and the orginal appears to have been pulled by the AFP.

I'm not sure if you will want to pull this thread, remove from breaking and place an update note on the original?

Thanks

HusseinCo don’t usually go out of their way to DENY something when they can so more easily politically SCOFF at something they don’t want to admit.

“That’s PREPOSTEROUS....” is how their denies usually go.

I find it would be treason for any commanding officer to let this infomation out! I believe it is true and it has/is happening, with little doubt imo, but to publicly confess it is beyond belief!

Current affairs magazine The Diplomat quoted ...

[Cue Meatloaf] ♫ Stop right there!
Perhaps the spokeperson for the general is right. The Diplomat? Anything foggy-bottom related is suspect on its face. For all we know the general actually said "What do you think we could do, parachute in US soldiers?" Maybe that editor from Miami ended up at The Diplomat and Trayvon-ed the quote?

After all, the whole original story didn't make a lick of sense. But most people assumed, me included, that the quote was accurate. I guess we forgot the current state of the media. (Of course, that is an assumption as well, but it makes much more sense that The Diplomat screwed it up rather than the general).

I don't know if we have or have not recently dropped behind NK lines, but if we have, my prayers are for any of our warriors tasked with that. Can you imagine being captured by the NK?

I almost think anti-capture cyanide pills would be needed on a mission like that.

From the first time I watched a documentary on our SEALS, I was very grateful that we have men who can do what they do and have sacrificed so much. May God bless all active and former American and Allied special forces. He definitely has blessed us with you all.

Leaks like this get good people killed and missions compromised

Nothing new for this administration, where having information that makes you “im’potant” just HAS to be spilled to a journalist

If Obama would send US troops to North Korea, you can bet it was to HELP the North Koreans, not go against them. North Korea, Russia, the ChiComs, Iran, Chavez, Obama are all on the same “New World Order” page.

The two sides [Democratic People's Republic of Korea and Russia] agreed to "promote and enhance friendly relations" in line with the joint declaration of July 19, 2000 and the Russia-DPRK friendship and good neighborly cooperation treaty of February 9, 2000.

Putin and Kim agreed during their talks to promote a Russian- DPRK political dialogue on the Korean issue and international affairs, and discussed many topical international problems, deputy head of the Russian presidential administration Sergei Prikhodko told reporters following the talks.

The two leaders spoke for an independent and peaceful solution to the issue of reunification of the Korean Peninsula, and against "any outside obstacles to this process" as "unacceptable."

We are creating a new world, a balanced world. A new world order, a multipolar world,” Chavez told reporters during a visit to Communist China, one of many. His “new world order” includes [RUSSIA], China, Iran,... and a significantly weakened United States, he explained.

Open Mic Catches Obama Asking Medvedev for Space on Missile Defense
March 26, 2012

"In a private conversation about the planned U.S.-led NATO missile defense system in Europe, President Barack Obama asked outgoing Russian President Dmitry Medvedev for space on the issue.

This is my last election,” Obama told Medvedev. “After my election I have more flexibility.”

“I understand. I will transmit this information to Vladimir,” Medvedev said, referring to incoming President Vladimir Putin."

__________________________________________________

Obama was talking with Russian President Dmitry Medvedev when neither of them realized that their conversation was being picked up by microphones. Here is what they said:

Obama: “On all these issues, but particularly missile defense, this, this can be solved, but it’s important for him to give me space.”

Medvedev: “Yeah, I understand. I understand your message about space. Space for you ...”

Obama: “This is my last election. After my election, I have more flexibility.”

Medvedev: “I understand. I will transmit this information to Vladimir.”

“This is my last election. After my election I have more flexibility.” That statement tells us much about the president’s mindset.

The specific mention of missile defense is worrisome enough. Mr. Obama has retreated from the missile defense plan that was negotiated with European allies during the George W. Bush administration. Apparently, he is signaling Moscow that he intends to retreat further. The clear implication from the president’s comments is that he cannot tell the American people before the election what he plans to do after the election.

In addition, there is the phrase “on all these issues,” implying more is at stake than just missile defense.”

It's possible that we are parachuting troops into North Korea. As someone mentioned above, HALO jumps, low level small planes can get under radar, even boat infilitration. I'm sure there are American and SK troops that have been in and out of NK.

But I think if the general said this (and it was autorized) it is psy ops to spread sow distrust on the NK regime. There are already stories that 30 some members of their diplomatic teams have been killed in executions and "accidents". This might be a way to get Kim to pull a Stalin and do a high level purge of the military leadership.

Obama Pledges Cuts in Missile Defense, Space, and Nuclear Weapons Programs

February 29, 2008 :: News
MissileThreat.com

A video has surfaced of Presidential candidate Senator Barack Obama talking on his plans for strategic issues such as nuclear weapons and missile defense.

The full text from the video, as released, reads as follows:

Thanks so much for the Caucus4Priorities, for the great work you've been doing. As president, I will end misguided defense policies and stand with Caucus4Priorities in fighting special interests in Washington.

First, I'll stop spending $9 billion a month in Iraq. I'm the only major candidate who opposed this war from the beginning. And as president I will end it.[not win it -etl]

Second, I will cut tens of billions of dollars in wasteful spending.

I will cut investments in unproven missile defense systems.

I will not weaponize space.

I will slow our development of future combat systems.

And I will institute an independent "Defense Priorities Board" to ensure that the Quadrennial Defense Review is not used to justify unnecessary spending.

Third, I will set a goal of a world without nuclear weapons. To seek that goal, I will not develop new nuclear weapons; I will seek a global ban on the production of fissile material; and I will negotiate with Russia to take our ICBMs off hair-trigger alert [they are NOT on "hair-trigger alert" now -etl], and to achieve deep cuts in our nuclear arsenals.

You know where I stand. I've fought for open, ethical and accountable government my entire public life. I don't switch positions or make promises that can't be kept. I don't posture on defense policy and I don't take money from federal lobbyists for powerful defense contractors. As president, my sole priority for defense spending will be protecting the American people. Thanks so much.

2008 Pentagon Report (March 2008):
China's Growing Military Space Power

By Leonard David
Special Correspondent, SPACE.com
March 6, 2008

GOLDEN, Colorado — A just-released Pentagon report spotlights a growing U.S. military concern that China is developing a multi- dimensional program to limit or prevent the use of space-based assets by its potential adversaries during times of crisis or conflict.

Furthermore, last year's successful test by China of a direct-ascent, anti-satellite (ASAT) weapon to destroy its own defunct weather satellite, the report adds, underscores that country's expansion from the land, air, and sea dimensions of the traditional battlefield into the space and cyber-space domains.

Although China's commercial space program has utility for non- military research, that capability demonstrates space launch and control know-how that have direct military application. Even the Chang'e 1 — the Chinese lunar probe now circling the Moon — is flagged in the report as showcasing China's ability "to conduct complicated space maneuvers — a capability which has broad implications for military counterspace operations."

We can’t for a moment forget who and what we have in the White House today. Even if we were to assist the South Koreans vs the North, we must suspect that there’s some kind of ‘catch’.

We don’t parachute people into North Korea....we beam them in like in Star Trek. The only way to stop this is with an Anti-Beaming Weapon. If I was North Korea, I’d get working on that right away!

US Special Ops commander: We’ve sent troops into North Korea

http://dailycaller.com/2012/05/28/us-special-ops-commander-weve-sent-troops-into-north-korea/

UPDATE: U.S. military officials told a Voice of America journalist in a statement that the quotes attributed to Gen. Tolley were fabricated.

“At no time have SOF [Special Operations] forces been sent to the north to conduct special reconnaissance,” said the United States Forces Korea.

U.S. Army Gen. Neil Tolley, commander of U.S. Special Operations Forces in South Korea, told an audience in Tampa that U.S. and South Korean forces have been sent into North Korea to spy on the communist country’s vast collection of underground tunnels and military installations.

Brigadier General trumps Colonel

Of course this is damage control, but who was in error? How, exactly, was the General misquoted? The article of the General’s assertion showed up last week. If he were in error, the denials would have come last week and he would be in the principal’s office [SecDef or some such].

When the original story hit FR, many surmised that the story of the incident was released to bolster Obama’s foreign policy credentials for the election. Whether true or not, on second thought, it showed to definitive problems:

1. If they did fly into NK, and the BGeneral admitted it, the US violated the sovereignty of another nation. The fall out from that could result in literal fall out.

2. If they did fly into NK, because of the above #1, they would not be admitting it to the world.

Is the BGeneral trying to sell a book?

This whole story smelled even last week. The Colonel’s denial doesn’t help.

Someone high up screwed up.

Was the screw up military or political?

Sadly, some clerk paper pusher(s) will be the ones sacrificed as being the culprit(s).

This past weekend I went down to see Three Dog Night on the flight deck of The Midway and met a few SEALs at the show. I’m an actor, and on Sunday morning I was invited to go inside the Navy SEALs training facility on Coronado Island. The SEAL who showed me around was from SEAL Team 3. The odd number SEAL Teams are on the West Coast and the even number SEAL Teams are on the East Coast.

I was in awe of these men. We watched a few video’s then walked around the courtyard (The Grinder). There’s a great sign that hangs on one of the walls above The Grinder that says “The only easy day was yesterday.” And since Sunday was their day off I got to go on the obstacle course and work at a few stations. Even though it was their day off the new guys who were trying to become SEALs were still working out on the obstacle course trying to perfect it. I had a blast. They make everything on the course so easy. Believe me it’s not.

I asked a few of the SEAL’s I talked to what they thought of Obama taking credit and giving away certain details of the missions and all they said was basically the same thing “I wish he would shut up.”
