A 9-year-old Massachusetts boy who earned an all-expenses-paid Disney World vacation through an innovative Facebook experiment gave the trip away to the family of a soldier killed in Afghanistan.
Brendan Haas created the "Soldier for a Soldier" Facebook page in February. Inspired by the story of the guy who, through a series of trades, turned a paper clip into a house, Haas started with a toy soldier and eventually traded up to $900 worth of Disney gift certificates, airfare and hotel credits.

Great job. The best I ever got from playing that game was a couch. This young man is a hero. (and I don’t use that word lightly)

What a great kid!
And what great parents he must have...well done folks! You're raising the kind of kid this country desperately needs.

I hope to read a followup saying that Disney has given Brendan and his family a VIP visit ‘on the house’.

God Bless this child. I wish I had what he has in his heart.
I wonder how much of this the government is going to take as their “fair share”?

Just wait until the Lemonaid Stand Police decide he owes some sort of personal gains tax and fines for operating without a license. Then those tickets had tax paid on them. And the fallen soldier's family will be hit up to pay a gift tax.

Yes, Yes, but be careful using the word HERO... “it is so rhetorically proximate to justifications for more war.” (Chris Hayes MSNBC)

Money is little to pay when placed next to the humiliation of the manhandling and the molestation they will have to endure at the hands of the TSA when they go to the airport to board their flight.

Way to go, young man! You done good.
What a great kid, and from Massachusetts no less. Reminds me of when my son got the “Most Disciplined” award from a martial arts camp he took last summer. Still chokes me up.
