In the recent French presidential election, Nicolas Sarkozy was narrowly defeated by Francois Hollande.  Faced with a similar financial crisis as much of Europe and raging unemployment, Sarkozy had championed cutbacks in government spending, but Hollande had

Yes, you're correct, the "church attendance" data in the table includes mosque attendance.

France is about 10% Muslim. Which can only mean that the data certainly understates significantly the lack of Catholic religious observance in France for 2 reason.

Muslims are remarkably observant of their faith. Thus the 60% non-attendee number will include few Muslims, while the remaining 40% (attendee) number will include almost all of the 10% Muslim population.

Making matters worse, the remaining 40% (attendee) number includes both regular attendees and occasional attendees. I have little doubt that (among this 40%) the percent of the French-Catholics who attend church ONLY occasionally far exceeds the percent of the French-Muslims who attend mosque ONLY occasionally. Why? French-Catholics live in secular communities, while French-Muslims live in religiously defined and observant communities.

Which makes the point of my post even more stronger: If France does fall to Islam it will NOT be because "France is too Catholic to save herself."

Another friend is an analyst for AIG...what scares him is the college loan bubble. And, he saw the 2008 crash coming long before it hit.

Good work, Hodar!

H/T Army Air Corps- Thanks!

The photo above is old news, and was shown on FR, and went around the world thousands of times.

Nobody is hiding anything from FReepers or other interested Americans: (I posted these photos last month).

Yes, the Socialists won in France. They don’t believe in the nation state or flags, and they were sing the I Internationale, the communist anthem at their rallies. There us a socialist twit in charge now. In other news, the sky is blue!

The article is a fake, the link does not link to any publication or blog, just to the jpg of the photo.

Be careful what you read, and read critically. Things are bad enough in France without grandstanding and fear mongering.

"The article is a fake, the link does not link to any publication or blog, just to the jpg of the photo."

Seeing no link, I did a internet search and did find an article/column, on a reputable website, that included the photo and email of this FR post . Here's the link: "The News From Occupied France" - Townhall.com

The important questions are: 1) Did an overwhelming Muslim vote for Hollande (as stated in the email) provide his margin of victory? and 2) Did that provide a victory to Islamic expansionists in France (as captured in the photo) and empower them with functional control of critical policies of Hollande's government?

The Muslim population of France is estimated at 5-10 million. Since it is illegal to ask identity questions, race, religion, sex, etc it is an estimate, not a real statistical fact. What percentage of that number are eligible voters? i.e. French citizens over the age of 18 is also an estimate.

The Muslim population in France is growing, and there must be steps taken to halt illegal immigration, and strictly limit legal immigration.

François Hollande is a socialist. Most Muslims voted for him, as most Muslims in the US voted for Obama.

There was always a 90+% chance that Sarko would lose. Unlikely the Muslim vote made any difference. The defeat was due mainly to the desire for change after 17 years of rightwing rule, and the personal unpopularity of Nicolas Sarkozy.

Thanks for the link to the TownHall article.
