Iranian Development of Nuclear Bomb Will Drive Saudi Arabia to Go Nuclear
Algemeiner ^ | 5-30-12

Posted on 05/30/2012 5:47:52 PM PDT by SJackson

Former Middle East envoy Dennis Ross said May 29 that Saudi Arabia’s King Abdullah has warned the U.S. that if Iran obtains nuclear weapons, Saudi Arabia will also try to acquire them.

“If they get nuclear weapons, we will get nuclear weapons,” Ross recalled King Abdullah telling him in 2009.

According to Haaretz, Prince Turki al-Faisal, a former Saudi intelligence chief and ambassador to Washington, had warned senior NATO military officials that an Iranian nuclear bomb “would compel Saudi Arabia…to pursue policies which could lead to untold and possibly dramatic consequences.”

Well duh. So I wonder what Ron Paul has to say about this. Everyone in the ME will soon have the bomb. Does he think we can trust them all?

Really? And where will the house of Faud get these weapons? The King and his 4000 princes have been pissing away their money on gold plated Mercedes and hiways to Bahrain, where they can whore and eat pizza. The Iranians on the other hand.....

There’s still plenty of money left.

Really, can you blame them.

Ultimately, every good leader must act in the best interest of their own people. Notice, I wrote “good” leader, as opposed to those in the Western world...

Doesn’t matter, we’ll stay at home, they won’t bother us.

Perhaps you missed my point. If the king starts today, they will need reactors, they will centrifuges, and they will need the engineers to run them. They have nothing. Once again. Where will they get these weapons....?

They can just call up Pakistan and order a package deal.

Note that Israel has been “nuclear” for decades and that has not prompted Saudi Arabia to follow suit. HOWEVER if Iran does then Saudi Arabia says it will, too.

That tells you that Saudi Arabia knows it has more to fear from Iran “going nuclear” than it has to fear from Israel “being nuclear” already!

Saudi Arabia is much closer to Israel than Iran.

Much easier “job” for the Israelis, when the time comes...

Actually, this is the reason that Iran will bluff on the bomb. They are saying that they are not developing it, but are slowly working towards the bomb without making the last steps. It is in their interest to show that they are capable of doing it, thus demonstrating that Shia is superior to Sunni by producing their own.

But, in the end if they would have a bomb they know that Saudi and possibly Egypt and Turkey will have it. This will not be in their interest if they are rational.

But that is the big if.

If this http://www.iranreview.org/content/Documents/What_Happens_after_Baghdad_Talks_Scenarios_and_Solutions.htm is a description of the way they see the outside world, then we know that they have problem in describing reality, but they could still be rational. It seems that the biggest problem is to get them to understand the world around them.

Pakistan. If Iran goes nuclear, the price our oil easily goes up to $120 Barrel. The light sweet crude in Saudi Arabia all but bubbles to the surface and the price of produciton is under $30. That's a $90 profit on each barrel. Who cares in the Saudi clan steals $30?
