Really liked big caliber wheel guns and lever action rifles all my life, but really took a shine to the Glock G17 and Colt AR 15.
Even an old dog can learn new tricks and wonder what took him so long.

I have an original Armalite AR-7

When you break it down and store it in the stock, IT FLOATS!

Kinda cool!

It was the reverse for me. Son gave me a Glock 19 decades ago for my birthday. Then I mushroomed with more Glocks, more Berettas, more-more 1911s and variants, AR-15s, AK-47 semis, Garands, Carbines, 03s, even a 1918 Winchester US-Enfield variant. Shotguns and other sundry assortments.

Then about 10 years ago I went old school - revolvers, lever action carbines, etc. Hog wild. To me they are better crafted if you go Ruger, S&W, and even the better Ubertis....its just an elegance that is different from today’s polymer/aluminum composites.
